Let’s hope you’ve not recently picked up the virus then!

I understand why people want to stay connected at times like this. If people don’t take the precautions seriously enough though the government will end up going for a proper lockdown and there won’t be the option to decide its worth seeing a relative.

I have been in contact with Work mates in an office . Only 1 days in the last 10 though as I was sick ( Not Physical ) . Went back to work on weds and came home that afternoon as I am classed as Vulnerable .

TBH , I will NOT let my 85 year old Mum be on her own this Sunday no matter what .

She is incredibly lonely . As I have said I have discussed this with my Sisters and Brother .

Be wary of people who refer to the planet as Gaia.

We and everything we do is part of the "environment", we didn't show up here from Alpha Centauri. We're a byproduct of this planet's evolution and therefor so is everything we do

Do I really have to say we shouldn't thrash it. Obviously not, but the whole "planet fighting back" thing is strange thinking.

Volcanoes thrash the place, and have killed much life on earth and destroyed whole eco systems, but they dont hate themselves.
Fear not, we're probably got somewhere between 10 and 100k years left as a species I reckon, if an Ice age doesnt do us in, a series of events will, like wars and pandemics, or at least set us back to a handful of farmers.
All of our "greatness" and civilization are but a think veneer on the base savages we still are. All we need is a push and we'll we back wearing skins and swinging bones as clubs :D

As George Carlin says, the planet will be fine, we'll be ****ed

So youngters thought they were immune, some on here said that if the young were ill, they would be given precedent over the old. Well there has been a change in Italy, it is now affecting people in their 20's & 30's. The reason they think this has happened is because all the attention has been on the elderly, there has been less attention to the young. The elderly are now occupying the beds and there was no mention of replacing them with younger people who can't get a bed.

People have been warned enough times in this country and still today some are not listening. If young ones start losing their lives you can't say you wasn't warned, again, again and again...

They need to start taking this **** seriously. Too many people out there thinking it's just another flu. The numbers coming out of Italy are heartbreaking - and that will be us in a couple of week's time or so. And like you have said many times - those numbers don't include indirect deaths because of hospitals being too full to treat other serious medical issues

I’m not saying it’s necessarily right though it must be a heartbreaking call to make but it has happened and will. I don’t think it’s something that differs by country- more of a Hippocratic oath-style code of ethics.

Not that anyone will know who ‘deserves’ treatment when they rock up needing it. Some old people have been out and about and some young people have. Some old people went to Cheltenham and some young did. It doesn’t need to be an old v young thing. It’s just a very unfortunate fact that doctors will be overrun and have to make choices based on a finite resource. I take no pleasure in that.
