What utter garbage. It the current season can be finished, it will be, and no one loses anything.

If it can’t be finished without totally compromising next season, the where’s the benefit to any of the major stakeholders?

Liverpool are top of a league that’s unlikely to ever be finished. Get used to the idea, as it’ll hurt less when it’s finally confirmed.

They should just use Tobes. Apparently he's far more informed on the issues than journalists who speak to the clubs.

I'm not #worried one bit about Liverpool not lifting the trophy.

In fact it's going to be an amazing cultural event, a massive celebration for all of football and people not just LFC, for things starting to get better.

"Of course it looks as though they're going to win the title. But they haven't won it. Who knows? Their form in recent games has been sobering for their fans," wrote Keys, as reported by the Liverpool Echo. They've been poor. Very, very poor. Have Klopp's infamous demands of his players caught up with them again - as they have in previous seasons?"

"Has last season's fantastic chase of City left them empty? We don’t know. And we might never know. Apologies, by the way, If your team plays lower down - but who cares about that? Liverpool fans appear not to. I left you out of the argument to make that very point."

"All of the above applies to England only. What about Scotland? Should Celtic be 'given' a title they haven't won?

"Of course they shouldn't and as manager of Rangers Steven Gerrard should be making that very point. Or is he more concerned about Liverpool? It makes you wonder doesn't it?"

Well said <applause> a lot of salient points.

Richard Keys interview with the Liverpool Echo. Unconfirmed reports he made it out alive.

No what's embarrassing is when everyone is coming together you're still trying to push partisan agendas like "I don't want Kopites winning at football"

I'm happy Bramley-Moore will provide some economic benefit after the coronavirus but you're fuming Liverpool will almost certainly win something everyone knows they fully deserve

You'd probably turn down a vaccine if it came in red packaging

That song being played was **** all to do with football, yet one eyed ****ers like you have hijacked that event as being somehow relevant to your precious club.

I couldn’t give a flying **** about your precious title, neither could anyone else. What’s funny is seeing ****ers like you and the rest of the Kopite cult, putting your title ahead of anything else, as if it’s somehow unthinkable if dem red men don’t get their now meaningless pot.

How am I hijacking by saying Liverpool's title win will now become a symbol of success and celebration beyond LFC itself?

So this season's title is now "meaningless", so are you sacking off football forever, or will next season be meaningful again? Or do you have to wait and see which teams play well to decide that?

That first sentence is you unwittingly showing the absolute ****ishness that runs through your fan base. As you seemingly actually ****ing believe that your title win is now being used as a symbol of success beyond your ****ty club in the midst of a worldwide disaster. What a ****ing moron you truly are.

This is all irrelevant as clearly the season will be finished and Liverpool will rightly win.

Doubt it would be breach of contract if it wasn't though - Frustration of Contract. How the contract accomodates for this is something none of us are privy to but can people (and journos who know nothing about contracts let's be honest here) stop saying it as if it's fact.

    17th March 2020
    Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales

"The competitions have to be finalised, if possible by June 30," he said. "Although that date doesn't have to be set in stone. We will fight for justice and for the table to reflect what happens on the pitch."

    20th March 2020
Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales - after discussions between UEFA and Europe's 55 Football Associations.

We have been working with UEFA for many days, by phone and by videoconference. We have put forward some proposals that have been satisfactorily approved. We already know what the situations are for the European, local and Euro competitions."

“The competitions have to be finished before June 30.
All teams have to play all the matches. That is what we discussed with the 55 member federations and with the Executive Committee. We have all voted favorably. The 19-20 season has to end with the same rules and not change, although the situation is exceptional. I cannot guarantee that the competition will end before June 30.

    Oh dear <whistle>

Southampton's chief executive has suggested Premier League matches could be on television every day while people are still confined to their homes because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Martin Semmens says the return of the top flight -currently suspended until at least 30 April- would be "a sign that the country is coming back to normal" but it should not happen before it is safe.

"We have to do what is right and safe for the general public," he told BBC Radio Solent.

"When everybody is safe and we're not using up NHS and police resources, the government would like us to get back to playing because we are entertainment and a sign that the country is coming back to normal.

"If people are home for another month and Premier League football is on the TV every day that can only be a good thing. Not because we are more essential than the NHS but because we can give people entertainment and show that we're fighting back."

    Clearly?

Money is on it not, where have you been yesterday and today? More recent updates tell me it's absolutely anything but clear.

Oh look, what virtually everyone with an actual clue has been saying from the off. The season has to be finished by the end of June.

It’s either done and dusted by that date or it’s skipped, it’s the only sensible outcome.

The above quote is the very reason why the vast majority now couldn't give a flying **** whether the season gets finished.

    Football is now irrelevant.

Funny that kopites like astro are quick to post any ambiguous statements from UEFA, PL, Fanny Craddock that provides them with any tenuous hope of completing the league at the expense of all other competitions....

and yet when we now have a clear statement from the Spanish FA reflecting the wishes of UEFA and all 55 federation members giving a fair and balanced statement on ALL competitions we hear not a peep. Perhaps it doesn't suit the #agenda
