Yes but what about the real emergency Pubs closed Alcohol in short supply due to panic buying You may end up being sober
Just done my first garden cut of the year Don't beileve I found 4 cans of cider in the shed Must've put them in there on my birthday when I was ratted
It looks like the supermarkets are experiencing their busiest day yet and people queueing just to get into the places. It's difficult to know what to do really. I don't want to panic buy, but we're now at the point where you have to start thinking ahead. I've probably got enough food until the middle of next week (the end of I absolutely had to survive), but there's no online slots for delivery at any of the major supermarkets over the next month so at some point you have to go out and face it. I've tried to be a bit creative and look at local veg and meat delivery services etc but they've all been overwhelmed. Anyone else got a plan for this?
Well I'm thinking (hoping) that this panic buying (deliberately depriving decent folk of essential goods) will settle next week ('cos spare rooms will be full !) and we'll get to the new 'norm' of just replacing what we use . . . . so we should then be able to shop like we used to
Where I live there are 3 Aldi, 2 Lidl, Sava Centre and Asda within a 3 mile radius. There is also corner shop 200 yards away. This morning I went to lidls @ 07:15 just to purchase Fish cakes, Tinned Tomatoes, Bananas, 2 packs of ham, 3 Kiwis. The only thing I couldn't get that was on list was a garlic bulb also wanted 2 bottles of milk but was limited to one No bog roll on display I kid you not there were only 6 other people in Lidls at that time. Mind they'd only just changed opening hours. Asda is open from 06:00 hrs as is corner shop. Corner shop still has stock of bog rolls in Ive no real need to do a 'big shop' as it stands but just plan to nip out now and again to top up. In all honesty queuing doesn't really bother me but catching the virus does purely because Mrs is high risk. I intend to try and avoid peak times and try and guess when they might be Mind I have plenty of time on my hands I intend to nip out early on Tuesday morning for a 'basket' shop And then will revisit Lidls again on Thursday for a top up ( Could be busier once word gets round that it now opens @ 07:00) Want to try and avoid pushing a trolley round. If push comes to shove we have enough provisions to cover us for 2 weeks if Im grounded but with obvious improvisions Just got to see how it goes. Im guessing that once people have got over this initial shock panic buying maybe calm down a bit. Having said that expect it to last for another couple of weeks. Not for 12. But who knows? Only the SMBers who have loads of experts on such matters!!
Northumbrian Water reckon that the inconsiderate tw*ts are causing sewers to become blocked! https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-tyne-51980820
I can remember doing that when I went camping, with a mate, up beside Hadrian's Wall when I was about 11. Iirc I couldn't stop f*rting for what seemed like forever!
No choice mate, I’ve been up town, none in Sainsbury’s or Tesco, and that’s all there is in the city centre. Most small shops were closed.
