We’re testing over 6,000 a day, by next week 10,000 a day and by mid April, 25,000 a day.

You are supporting them. At this moment, you may feel it's baby sitting, but we are all 'at war' . We have to adapt. **** education, don't be too proud to be a baby sitter, you are playing a massive role. Attending school is massive in safeguarding vulnerable kids in horrendous family situations. There is a plausible argument from social work fraternity that the policy of continuing education for vulnerable kids does stigmatise them. I never thought I'd ever say this, I applaud Boris in keeping schools open for this group of kids who are so dependent on school.

Throw in a few public information videos. Important stuff like don't walk under electricity pylons with a bloody great fishing rod over your shoulder.

Don't retrieve football's from fenced off electricity substations.

Don't walk on electrified rail lines.

Don't cross railways. But if you do and you happen to get your footy boots stuck in the tracks, just leave them when you see a train is approaching.

And just to lighten the mood finish off with a bit of protect and survive. Don't drink that post nuclear blast rain water.

if they didn’t catch it locally, then yeah, that will probably change the odds. But until they’re tested, they aren’t going to know for sure, which is why I’d still proceed with caution. Best wishes to them.

You're right, they're young and enthusiastic. They want to save the world and have been held back. You try to stop 'em!

    Well that didn't take long.

This morning photographers arrived at No. 10 to capture footage of a new group, ‘Pause the System‘, turning up in hazmat outfits to demand the Government do more to fight Coronavirus.

The groups press officers are Steph Zupan and Dan Kidby who are Extinction Rebellion organisers and spokespeople. The 'no politics' rule stops further explanation.

As an adoptive parent I applaud your attitude towards the children, you clearly have them in mind.
The only thing I would say is that the direct link you mentioned is between behaviour and attachment needs. Therefore describing them as 'behavioural needs' is pretty negative and outdated, as behaviour is a symptom, not a cause.

I read something the other day suggesting there’s some evidence of people getting reinfected.

You’re a typical teacher ie a ****ing entitled prick.

This about neither you nor the children.

This is about ensuring that nurses and doctors can still be out there helping people who need it most.

And all you’re bothered about is not being spoon fed a ****ing emergency curriculum.

Take some responsibility, do your bit and look after those kids. I’m sure you can find something constructive to do with both yours and their time. Stop being a little bitch.

You know I think I’m actually starting to agree with you, the kids probably are better off at home. Christ can none of the staff at your school think for themselves?

Im sure between all of you, you can devise a solid plan for a massively reduced number of kids you are already capable of caring for anyway!

That should all come with a footnote “unless you’re in China, in which case these practices are perfectly ok”

I have no great insight into modern schooling. From the outside, to me, it seems it is a box ticking exercise, a curriculum that cannot be deviated from. Support staff are provided for those with special needs. Being critical of someone who all of a sudden is being asked to ' wing it", the rule book no longer applies, is a tad harsh.

Then again, in light of the uncertainty of many people's jobs, perhaps best if the poster had not voiced his worries on here.

Ps going back to the dodgy plumbers thread, " the toilets blocked", enter bathroom, see baby wipes on cistern. Leave bathroom sniggering, yea good luck with that.

Oh how quickly they grow up.

I'm doing everything I can to support everybody I can, I'm not on a forum acting like a ****ing melt towards people who are rightly annoyed at the government for overlooking a simple line.

We don't NEED instruction on how to teach you ****wit, we need to know what the government wants because inevitably whatever we do freestyle will be the wrong thing and we'll get smacked down for it. That's what OFSTED have done to us, nobody wants to do anything without being told because of the repercussions they put on us.

Though thank you for validating my career choice, I spend everyday making sure kids don't grow up to be a flannel like you.

There is nowhere to voice worries, nobody is speaking up for our profession, they're just expecting us to know what to do. They've told most of the UK workforce to go home, which is good advice, but the ones left to work have received little to no guidance at all, be it healthcare, education or food manufacturing. Are people seriously suggesting we should carry on as normal as if nothing has changed? Or that we just wing it for the next 12 weeks and hope everything will be alright? Insanity. In the space of a week we've gone from having everything in place to nothing. All respect due, when you're dealing with other people's children, the stakes are much, much higher. I have my own daughter to worry about, she's not well (though not with Coronavirus, she is vulnerable) and yet I'm still trying to get the best for the ones at work because that's what they deserve.

Don't know how schools are supposed to plan for partial opening on Monday to care for 'key workers' kids when the list of key workers is only published the previous Friday.

Don't think it's particularly fair or helpful for folk taking out an obvious personal bias against teachers in the current situation.

There's a lot that's up in the air at the moment and a lot of folk in a lot of sectors require greater clarity of the current guidance.

Anyone who thinks teachers have it easy need to think again. You wouldn't do it for the money or the holiday when you take into account the hours outside of school that you have to work.

Sister in law is in work at 7.30am. Not home until 6pm and is then usually marking or lesson planning at home from her kids going to bed until the small hours.

There's plenty more 'entitled' who earn a lot more for less work and contribute a lot less to the rest of society than teachers. Funny how those people are never queried by those who constantly slag off teachers.

The list of key workers was published last night, parents have got today to register their kids if they qualify, the schools then have the weekend knowing the numbers and ages of those they’re teaching, to make decisions on what’s required.

It’s obviously not ideal, but it is what it is.
