Premier League suspension until April 30 th at the earliest. The rule that the league must be completed by 1st June has been amended to indefinitely. Hopeful that all parties wish for the season to be completed at some point. Stay safe everyone and look after you and yours.
Boy has football and the world in general changed. Absolutely loved (nearly) every minute of this season and it has the potential to be one of our greatest when it returns. When, not if.
If you have Sky Sports, you can go on to the website and freeze your Sky Sports account. You are still able to watch the sport channels and all your recordings will still be there. They just won't take your money (hopefully!) You can unfreeze it at any time. You can do all this in about 3 clicks when you have logged on.
Can you definitely still watch the sport channels? I was looking at pausing but didn't want to lose any channels. Even if they're only showing old stuff, news and the debate.
Any sign of those plastic partitions or whatever it was that a certain modest poster on this board used to bang on about? On a more serious note, the new training ground looks to be one heck of an impressive project.
I'd forgotten about that, the perspex partitions caused mayhem for months It'll be open before the season ends if they continue on schedule!
The calls for the season to be declared null and void are gathering pace. While we may smile at the fact that Liverpool won't win the Prem our result away to Southampton will also be wiped and Vardy will be back to 82 Prem goals. Go Liverpool I say.
When ever it is safe to do so (even if it's behind closed doors) the season should be finished. Forget next season, get this one done first.
Fully agree. This season should be completed and next season should start whenever that may be. If this season is scrapped and effectively never happened and all goals and results don't count, do players then pay back wages and bonuses? We've come too far to scrap it, plus we're in prime position for a Champions League spot!
Unfortunately the likes of Karen Brady disagree with you. Lets hope those that feel that way don't get their wish. I can imagine all the bottom 10 voting to wipe the season as might the likes of Spurs, Man Utd and Arsenal if it looks like they miss put on Europe. It would be a travesty for us Liverpool and Sheff Utd should that happen
The worst would be if last years teams get into Europe. That’d suit Arsenal and Spurs but I think Man Utd would want to play the season out. Europa isn’t an improvement for them but they had built up a head of steam and were hunting us and Chelsea down plus being in the cups. But yeah the majority would rather scrap it or be indifferent. I wonder whether European competitions will even take place next season with the travel risk. Would be **** if we qualify but can’t take part. I did read that individual records like our 9-0 and Vardy being on 99 goals would stand as they were competitive games played in good faith even if the season can’t end. Not sure how true that it
Yeah thats how i read it, stats from this season will still stand, there would just be no "official" final table. I wonder how next season will go, Prem will still have its 38 games, because money, but can see the cup competitions taking a hit. Think they should scrap the league cup and take this years FA cup into next year, play the quarter finals early next year.
I just think it’s dangerous prescient to end the season. What happens if the next season gets disrupted from a reoccurrence? Better to cut cup competitions and international going forward if needs be
I feel sorry for the lad. I thought he was a good buy when he came to the club, but he never really got a run in the team in any one position in order to establish himself. Too many times he came on as a sub with 20 minutes to go to try and rescue a losing situation, and he ended up trying too hard and not doing himself justice. He was clearly a talented youngster but like so many who step up from a lower division he needed to be at the right premier league club that could have given him an extended run in his best position. If he'd done that then I think he could have been a very solid premier league player by now.
No. Four years and four different managers have tried to develop the lad but I've not seen any consistent evidence of significant progress. In that period we've had other young players who have had chances and we've seen progress and improvement, sadly not from Gray. I've no doubt the lad has talent but I think we have given him plenty of opportunities but he's not shown enough progress for me.
He showed real promise when he first came. I had the idea he was a right winger but it seems they've tried him as striker, number 10 and a left winger to try and develop him. I'd have just made him concentrate on being a winger that takes on the full back and getting crosses in. Four years on and he's turned into a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none, it's a shame.
