But as we have no vaccine yet, we are basically attempting to evade the virus rather than defeat it.
For as long as GB doesn't get it from Lands End to John O'Groats, we're all just waiting for Italy-style mass infection.
This means the present arrangements would continue for months not weeks, keeping a low profile, avoiding the crowds etc
At what point is the 'crisis' over? If infections have peaked in China or even in Italy, at what point will a govt give the all clear.?

In the 1946/47 season after a bad winter, City's last game was on 7 June. I can't see anyway that this season can be finished unless games are played behind closed doors (assuming clubs themselves are free of the virus). Think a decision must be made in the next two weeks by the EFL/PL about this, otherwise they will surely have to void the season.

Finally: anyone know wear to buy a protective face mask?

 

They've cancelled all new trips out to the rigs to prevent infection, which means, as a contractor, I'm currently unemployed and not entitled to government help in the meantime, which is a stinker. From memory, swine flu was far worse mortality with 1% of the fuss, just a lot of demand for Tamiflu. Without doubt, across Europe and US, every event like this becomes a political football to attack the sitting government and think this exaggerates it as ferments panic and excessive demands for politicians to act.

If any good comes from it, it will encourage better preparation and a bit more respect for essential service workers and logistics/food/service industry.

This season will be null and void. Doubt very much if we will see another ball kicked. There is no chance of it kicking off again in three weeks because those making the decisions believe the worst is still at least a month away then they are expecting an Italian type lock down.
Don't know how they are going to decide the promotion and relegation places.
Cannot see it being decided by a Pools panel either so what are the alternatives besides an across the board null and void decision ?
As for the face masks ? Seeing as most of them come from China I cannot see any arriving for a few weeks yet. I know one thing for certain, when some one does get some back on the shelves they wont be 99p each anymore.

 

I'm thinking if we can't kick a ball again until May which gives a 7 week break we've still got 6 weeks to mid June to play 9 matches, doable allowing until end June for play offs.

think iam in the minority of people thinking all this shutting football down is a bit premature...theres not many games left to play and we could of got a couple more games out the way before the peak of the virus arrives then have a few behind closed doors and the season would be nearly over any way.

 

It may also encourage people that have the chance to put a bit aside .For if they have a period of inactivity

 

If Carlsberg did viruses it would be one where the vermin are odds on for promotion, lfc are certs for the league, and the season gets cancelled with the finishing line in sight.
