It's not just the virus that is affecting the markets at the moment
There's the issue of Russian / Saudi oil spat which has had the most effect

She’s five years younger than me. I’ve told her she’s got to work a couple more years. Caused a few rows in our house, I tell you <laugh>

Were you sitting in an armchair with your feet up not having made tea with a whisky in your hand as she came in from work having called in at the shops on the way home from work having done an hours overtime when you mentioned it?

My wife would have been arrested by the Police for murder if she had to work for me for a day never mind a week or longer.

I do all the housework, a canny bit of cooking, so all is good on the domestic front at the moment. I can tell me being in bed when she goes to work eats away at her though.

I dont do the housework, I dont do the cooking, in fact I dont do much at home.

But I graft hard at work and provide the house that's hers (she told me that)
I pay all the Bill's etc. So the money she earns and mine is hers to spend.
She works part time for me and has flexible hours to work when she wants to
We have a great relationship at work
Better than at home as my daughter is the one that winds me up, good job she doesnt work for me

You were lucky - claiming yours during the 1980’s stock market bubble.

Life needs to change. People trading 000's for thin air and somehow getting rich is fundamentally flawed.

The stock market is going through a correction period anyway. Pretty much on an annual basis you will see a fairly sharp dip. That coupled with carona is making it a bit more alarming than usual. It will come back and probably just presents opportunity to smart investors / fund managers so I wouldn't be concerned.

You adapt accordingly. Contract your finances when things are bad, and splurge a bit when it's good times. If you have a roof over your head and you can buy baked beans, pasta, milk and bread, you'll be ok for a few months. To some poor ****s those staples are a banquet! We'll all be ok.
Everyone calm the **** down FFS!!!<cheers>

Would just echo the comments on being sensible. If we all do that, we'll be fine. Don't make any rash or ill informed decisions but make sure you have what you need.

Where there is volatility, there is money to be made!

And not by accident! Whenever something like this comes along there are those who will actively seek to manipulate uncertainty in the markets and then make a killing later on. A very select few get richer and richer and the general public lose a bit of their pensions, but not so much as to cause enough of an outcry to get the system changed.

Yes sometimes but what I'm saying is that a bit of volatility isn't necessarily bad for the everyman's pension pot
