Just come on here a few minutes ago after being busy all day, and I'm shocked he's still here. Well actually more disapppointed than shocked. ****ing hell, we're doomed laddie, doomed.
-> but the point i am making is would Nigel get better out of the players Yes. Without a doubt. He wouldn't persist week after week with something that isn't working, and he'd have them far better organised. Nige isn't daft.
Yes, I never thought he was particularly bright. He just uses managerial appointments to prove a point. I've also had him described as "a nice bloke", "a great boss" and, most worryingly, "a playboy who loves the lifestyle of being a football club owner" (among other less complimentary things). My point was, however, that I don't think we'll go down a predictable route should we look to replace McCann.
So he'll sack Terry, then appoint himself! If he did that and then said he was going to let the team pick itself and play how they wanted I reckon we'd have a half decent chance of staying up! I started this post as a joke, I'm not so sure now...
A game or two before Eaves got injured I recall Magennis stating in a post match interview that he'd like he and Eaves to be starting upfront together. I remember then thinking it was significant that he was questioning tactics publicly.
I keep logging on each day hoping this thread has exploded to 40 plus pages for obvious reasons. Pah.
Its bizarre eh? would love to know "why" we haven't fired him. My money's on the old man is grinning like Zippy from Rainbow at the thought of us going down. Does it make financial sense? No. Do the Allams care? probably not. It'll be an excuse to cash in yet again and sell half the squad. Terry Out, Allams Out.
Of course they care. They reckon they are owed around £50 million still, and are still claiming a couple of million gift interest a year. If we go down, they will know full well that they can kiss goodbye to that money. And they can hardly 'cash in' again; there's next to nothing to cash in on, and cashing in as a team in division 3 is entirely different from cashing in as a team from division 2.
I don't understand how you reach the premise that the Allams don't care about the financial implications of relegation? After almost ten years of their ownership the one thing we do know that they care about is money, we go down and we're REALLY ****ed.
That would have been the wise choice a month or even a few weeks ago. Now, it’s a gamble, one that could cause extra financial liabilities.
The squad is worth sweet fa right now, probably less than the drop in income we'd get if we're relegated. Not a reason to be grinning like Zippy (whoever he is).
