Maybe this is the guy, it's gone quiet on the Newcastle takeover.

Prospective Newcastle owner Alejandro Irarragorri has explained that giving back to the community and the supporters would be high on his list of priorities, if his takeover bid was to be successful.
The Mexican billionaire, whose business group Orlegi Sports already owns a number of clubs in South America, has been reported as one of the bidders looking to pry the club from Mike Ashley over the last few months.
Irarragorri's interest in the club allegedly stems from the Goal! movie franchise, which centres around a young Mexican player who makes a fairy-tale first-team breakthrough at the Magpies, although recent reports have suggested he has been put off by a 'rude' meeting with the unpopular Ashley.

He perhaps upset the Mexican chap wearing a cardigan and no tie, if so he would get on well with Assam. Remember Gerahty

There was 'green space' on Pickering Park but the council still managed to squeeze an housing estate in it without too many objecting. Where's there's a will there's a way.....

Here's the actual plan from the KCOM lease...
    stadium lease plan.PNG
As I've mentioned before, the SMC did come up with plans to develop the site, with a hotel, a major business moving into the stadium on weekdays and new build shop and restaurant units (which included relocating FC's offices and club shop), but they were never actually submitted to HCC, as Assem had already decided to not do anything that involved working with the Council.

I discussed it with Councillor Brady and he was very disappointed that it wasn't going to go ahead, he's very keen on further development of the KCOM site, but as has been mentioned already, he won't entertain losing the fair site.

You not read the article? 'Now the independent planning inspector who chaired the inquiry has dismissed the company's appeals'. It's the government who've just agreed with the Council and rejected the appeal.

Having just checked, it seems they didn't buy the building, it's still in use by Rosedowns, who will only move out if the Allams buy it from them, which presumably they won't now, so it doesn't matter that it's not being developed.

Bet Rosesowns are gutted then, as they most likely want to move out of an aging expensive building.
