The Bluebirds have tonight signed Elliot Parish as a back up keeper cover for Tom Heaton who is injured. Wikipedia were quick off the mark! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliot_Parish
I nearly signed he just a couple of days ago on Football Manager.... for Newport County They rated him as a L1 goalie, possibly low Championship side at best. Decent cover.
Never heard of him. But I'd never heard of Rudy Gestede either and no complaints there "Elliot Parish is a promising young goalkeeper who has been in Villa's academy since the 2006-07 season. The custodian from Northampton spent the final two months of the 2010-11 campaign on loan at Lincoln City, making five appearances in League Two. In the early stages of the campaign he alternated with veteran Andy Marshall as the club's reserve team goalkeeper. He was a regular keeper for the under-18s side that won the Premier Academy League championship in 2007-08 and reached the FA Youth Cup semi-finals. Although Parish is yet to play for the first team, he travelled with the squad to Switzerland for a pre-season tour in July 2008, where the claret and blues played games against FC Wil 1900 and FC Zurich. The keeper has also been capped for England at youth level and was hailed as one of the stars of the 2009 U20 World Cup in Egypt by coach Brian Eastick" source: http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/ReservesProfile/0,,10265~2091276,00.html
And in previous seasons - Taylor and Dimi Dropalot. We don't have a very good record with loan keepers do we? From memory Kasper was the only one to leave a positive impression.
You're not wrong Roy. Mind you perhaps we are a bit hard on Jason Brown who, as far as I can remember, didn't actually start a game for us.
