I’m gonna shock everyone here but I have to say that Jose’s comments on Tanguy Ndombele are spot on. The perfect (correct) amount of criticism but also encouragement too.
He's not giving 100%. I don't care if you're ****. You can't help that. I do care if you can't be bothered.
The point at Turf Moor was Jose Mourinho's 27th as Spurs manager. Since he was appointed as Mauricio Pochettino's replacement in November, only Liverpool and Manchester City have accumulated more. (BBC Football article) The Jose haters aren't going to like this. Not one little bit.
That's probably because it is a pointless statistic straight out of the same empty of logic drawer as the one a lot of posters used to wheel out about Poch at the faintest sign of criticism. You know, the one about how we'd accumulated more points than everyone bar City across the period Aug 2017 - June 2019. Ignoring the fact that our points tally from Jan 2019 - June 2019 was relegation-esque; exactly what you'd find it is under Maureen by simply moving the starting line from Nov to Jan.
We've picked up 27 points from a possible 51. If you think that is worth celebrating, fair enough. All this statistic says is 'congratulations on being slightly less cack than most other teams'.
Tbh honest I thought you were were disappointed with our performance ... You wanted us to get a thrashing iirc... Glad to see you are coping with the disappointing 2nd half performance and final result
Who said anything about celebrating? I made the post to put everything into perspective, so that the Mourinho haters wind their necks in a bit, and give him a chance.
I'm guessing them comments were made by the same posters who nowadays have decided 4 months is enough. Comes across like the kind of rubbish them type of supporters would churn out. The same ones that were saying 'watch the trophies come after 5 years' and Levy is savvy. I think points are important more than performances from now till the end. Performances are going to be an eye sore until a summer of hard graft.
Those last seven points have come since the start of February Seven points out of a possible fifteen That's less than 50% of available points please log in to view this image
Nothing underlines a weak argument better than, when actual data is staring you in the face, the only response available to you is "But Poch...!"
That is unacceptable, fitness or no fitness, injury or no injury, he just is not even trying to track back and stop the Wolves player. Paulinho MK2 imo. Surely he can not be this lazy, so maybe there is more to it, some kind of undiagnosed injury like a hernia or something, though that is extremely unlikely with the medical facilities they have these days. I hope he comes good as there is undoubted talent, but at the moment he is a £55m dud and completely unsuited to the PL.
He’s so so lucky that there are other problems at Spurs and so the spotlight hasn’t really been on him yet because he looks fat, lazy and useless most of the time. He needs to start showing a lot more and quick if he wants to become the player we thought Spurs were signing.
Sunday league players do that what he was doing but they’ve been on the piss all night, what’s his excuse?
That tracking back was abysmal it deserves to be highlighted If that was Lo Celso I’d put it down to him being knackered having put in a mega shift A few days ago when you said it’s an injury and cited Sterling as an example of carrying the same injury...I thought ok...makes sense but then I did think Sterling doesn’t bail out after 30 minutes every game...I’ve seen that with my own eyes. However taking into account TN’s professionalism in the past vouched for by ex teammates and coaches plus what my eyes show me every time he plays...I think it’s fair to say he’s not a scapegoat but a victim of his own ****ness as things stand none of this equates to writing him off but he really needs to up his game in a big way...I think that’s a fair observation of him as far as evaluating our new signings go.
I actually believe that Mourinho is exactly what we need. He won’t pull any punches, either with players or the board. The bloke knows how to win, and what it takes to win. It’s clear, for all to see that he is sorely lacking the tools to work with. It’s going to be interesting to see if the board backs him. If they don’t, I don’t want to hear any of our dopey fans bleating on about us ever winning anything, ever again. We’ve hired a serial winner. If he can’t win anything with us it will be us who will be football’s laughingstock, not Mourhino. Therefore, I suggest you boys get behind him, and start to express your concern with the board.
it’ll be a case of ‘he’s past it’ when the reality is He joined trophy shy Levy Hotspur and ends his record of winning things at every club
