Everybody that used that sanitiser will have put their fingers or palms all over it - it's probably covered in germs already - you need to be a real thicko to do that

British officials say a total of 20,338 people have so far been tested for the coronavirus in the UK, 163 of which are confirmed to have contracted the virus.

Sales of electric motability scooters for obese pensioners will be dropping, should the effects of this virus finally kick in.

The World Health Organisation have said dogs cannot transmit the Convid 19 virus and so they do not need to be kept indoors.

    WHO let the dogs out.

Flu that took 3 weeks before he started getting better, and he had to seek hospital treatment for pneumonia. Utter muppet for not taking the antibiotics, but otherwise doesn’t it give pause for thought that this was a fit young man and many of us ... aren’t? I had proper flu once, didn’t know who I was for a couple of days. Not keen on repeating the experience. Not fancying a month being ill.

I’m not buying the hysteria but it is concerning that potentially 20% of the workforce could be off sick at peak (and presumably family members also having to take leave of absence to look after them on top of that). Things like that are more worrying - disruption to everyday life rather than worrying about the mortality rate. If 20% of food/petrol/medicine delivery drivers, and 20% doctors and nurses are all off sick, it could get messy for a bit. Those of us who grew up hearing stories about life in the war from parents and grandparents are in a considerable minority these days, “keep calm and carry on” is just a trendy poster to lots of people and not something they’ve had to actually do in any kind of crisis.

In this house we don’t have masks, we’ve got soap and an ancient mini bottle of handgel and enough food in the house we could eat for a couple of weeks without leaving. Hopefully we’ll ride out anything coming our way but we’re a bit worried about mam & mother in law who are both getting on a bit and who definitely couldn’t manage a dose of flu/pneumonia type illness without serious problems. Keeping fingers crossed, hoping for the best but preparing for something worse.
