I'm flying back for the Bristol match and dreading the journey. I usually just keep my head down and ignore the horrible gaggle of coughing/sneezing/farting oafs ...

... I'm just hoping most passengers don't turn up and me and Mrs Smug can get as far away from them as possible.

    :bandit::bandit: ...

... that's Mrs Smug on the left if you were interested.

What’s even stranger is that people are using the term “covid-19” as if it were a time period <laugh>

No need to panic, already I've seen quotes of 'lets use all our January signings'. Forgetting that the core of the team Parky has used has us within striking distance of the top. FWIW, I'd have Lafferty up front. Wyke has had his chance but his stats just aren't deserving a starting place.

I like that focus and steeliness from Parkinson. Top two is the aim and we better be focused!

He's right about how important this week is, especially with a break coming up. 2 weeks to think about a missed opportunity is not what we want.

I expect away to Blackpool to be the trickiest of the 3 though so we need 2 wins to start this run off.

Football League say there will be no pre- match handshakes between the players.
For me I'd scrap it all together, both sides should come out separately like the old days at Roker Park. Nowt better than roaring just your own players on at the start. A Crescendo of cheers!!!!.......
then boo-ing them off at the end.<laugh>

flanagan ! he should have scored last week. With us not having a home game for a month after Gills had we won last week i reckon we would have hit 40,000 tomorrow but see 30,000. to go up we need 8 wins out of 10 now i reckon or beat rotherham and 7 wins.

The last two games have undoubtedly dented the optimism that was starting to grow, for me at least, but fcuk it Sunderland never do easy...

Its scoring goals that worry me, Parky was hoping Gooch was going to oblige and moved him inside for Wykes flick ons etc. Thid meant Hume was on his own again (Mcgeady was worse) and now gets got at

They're killing the spontaneity by making each game follow the same pre-planned procedure ...

... I agree, let the gladiatorial atmosphere return!

Funny what happens when you listen to a bit of Jimmy Cliff. <laugh>

Anyway, lets turn over every team we play.........so 'the harder they come, the harder they fall'

It's got nowt to do with Fell gate which is the next station along. If you grew up in Boldon Colliery you'd know that Whin is a gorse Bush. They covered the area around the station and east of the pit. Used to play as a youngun around there and everyone called it the whinnies. I think Brockley is a derivative of Brock which is a badger. So "place where badgers and gorze bushes live.... Simples

Lafferty in for Wyke. Wyke in for Ozturk. At times a back 5. Other times a back four with twin towers up top.
