Prior to the introduction of all-seater stadiums, I was pretty much unaware of such problems. I stood in the middle of The Shelf with like minded souls and we sung our hearts out. Not all of it was suitable for polite society but if it wasn't for you, you could relocate.

Today, people are stuck with "those arseholes over there" but it's very far from just a football problem. In the last couple of years, I've tried to calm issues in a West End theatre (twice) and at a Damned gig (I was threatened with physical violence for my trouble). I've seen no end of flare ups in cinemas over people talking loudly during a film.

I'm not sure of the answer but generally, it's not more laws...better application of what's already available is best. Otherwise we'll paint ourselves into a sterile corner as advocated by ****ing hacks like this...

If we want to kill the game stone dead, just let twats like this lead the way. A certain level of 'heated participation' at football is fine and is what foreign leagues have been working to match and surpass. Clubs need to indicate that stewards are trained to intercede when behaviour exceeds what's acceptable and you will be ejected and police will be involved if it's appropriate...and then do it. Otherwise it'll end up with government intervention, like fencing and all-seater stadiums...which is where I came in.

Maybe the stewards need to be allotted a nice sized truncheon for self protection and other things.

The thought of the return of capital punishment comes to mind to bring law and order back to Britain! Not to mention National Service.I said not to mention National Service!

Someone said the hangman was a Chelsea fan when he wasn't busy! Never been confirmed!!!!?

Apparently Tim Krul had a sheet telling him where our penalty takers were most likely to hit their shots.
That's not new and people have been doing it for a long time.
I assume that this information comes from our training sessions, though.
Kane and Son are our regular penalty takers and they're both out injured, of course.

We need to take advantage of this information ourselves.
Practice the bloody things properly and insist on variation in order to become less predictable.
Our set-pieces are generally garbage and they have been for some time.
This is just another extension of that.

I can F n Blind with the best of them and no way am I looking to curtail language like that but yesterdays game the idiots I'm referring to were out of order and I think that had some of the crowd around them got involved it would have kicked off , you can moan about the team or a player but this was pure hatred of a sort that I've not witnessed toward our own team before
Due to physical condition I rarely go to the lane any more so can't say if this is a regular occurrence, I said to my son before the game we should bring the grandson along to a game soon but sadly I not so sure now

That's it. You can't always say where the line is in words...but you know it when you see it.

Unfortunately, we're seeing it more and more everywhere. It's up to the club to police itself better before we get it imposed from outside and having drink in the ground at all becomes a problem.

Like DH, I haven't felt this disconnected from the team I love for a very, very long time. Even throughout the dross of the 90's and all the ****e I had to endure in the playground every monday morning in the wake of us getting walloped by the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, there was always something that held my heart. Whether it was the crowd at WHL, the likes of Ginola and Klinsmann, the trophies in 91 and 99, it was always there.

That was what struck me when I took my seat right at the top of the East last night. It was only my second time at the new stadium, the first being the opening game. And I felt...well...nothing.

I sang loudly, got told off every 3mins for standing up and endangering the lives of those around me, but it just wasn't the same. I felt like I was doing it more to get my money's worth than for actually caring about most of the players I was singing at. It was no coincidence that the player who got the best reception and most personal chants was Jan. He was probably the only player out there the fans share a proper, deep connection with.

I'm not sure where we go from this season. That is the part that worries me most. It was clear we brought Maureen in for an instant impact and it simply hasn't happened. I'm all for giving him the summer to fix it but in all honesty I just see too much to fix and with each passing game, he is running out of time to at least get the preliminary legwork done before the off season kicks in. Tanguy looks no closer to fitness. Aurier looks no closer to being a defender (although he was very good going forward last night). Our midfield look no wiser as to how to control a game. Dele looks more like his brother with each passing week. Troy looks completely out of his depth at competitive level. I sit back and ask myself: is there improvement anywhere?

The team is exhausted and scared. I lost count of the number of times we chose the wrong option for the final ball, or the number of times a player (usually Gio or Gedson) had possession in a dangerous area and no-one showed even the slightest interest in showing for the ball to help them. The penalty misses at the end just summed up the feeling of deflation around the club at the minute. Even when Dier launched himself into the crowd, I wasn't surprised. Nor did I care. 'He'll get a lengthy ban for that' my cousin said to me. I just shrugged. So he'll get a ban. So what. 'But Dele might also get a ban'. So fecking what.

The small glimmers of hope were Jan looking sharper than he has all season, Skipp having a really good game and eclipsing Winks' performance, Gedson - miss and penalty aside - at least having the confidence to get the ball and run at them (that'll be gone now too though) and then above and beyond all of that, Gio's performance. He's worth watching. He cares. You can see it in his body language, in the way he scraps for the ball, berates himself for mistakes, pushes himself beyond the brink of exhaustion to go again.

    He'll be my Spurs.

my feelings regarding Levy and on the field football matters have been made clear for a long time. I don’t disagree with any of that.
But many fans are still giving Mourinho the benefit of the doubt. - and perhaps that’s fair at this stage with what he’s inherited. However, IMO regardless of whether he’s given money, time, or whatever, I still think he’s past it and won’t be the right man for the job. From what I’ve seen over his last 5 years or so in football, his tactics, strategies and management has become outdated and subsequently he’s looked far from “the special one” over that time period.
    I guess time will tell.
All I’m getting at is don’t be surprised if he’s given money and has his “own team” going into next season and we’re still ****.

Being so far away in Australia its difficult to know the ins and outs of what is going on, but C.Kane has kind of said some of it for me.
Sadly i haven't got the excitement on matchday that i used to - no longer do i stay up late or get up early to watch my Spurs. The Spurs i am seeing now seems to have lost its soul - even wind ups from my workmates don't provoke a reaction anymore. One of my workmates is a Burnley fan and happily declared after the cup match that we were rubbish and would lose to them, i didn't argue. What has happened to pride in the shirt what i have seen is passionless drivel. I hope that Mourinho finds the key to it, because we are now staring at mid table mediocrity and no end in sight. Sorry for the rant but i am really not feeling optimistic.

I get the way you're feeling. I do. I felt like that during the reign of The Bloke in the Coat.

I also get that we're going to be losing a lot more games than we win. I didn't think that we were going to beat Norwich, nor do I think that we'll beat Burnley. If we hadn't got points out of games where we really rode our luck - City (both games), Wolves (A), Sheff Utd. (H), Villa (A) and hadn't squeaked home against The Spammers, Bournemouth, Brighton (H), our situation could and possibly should be far worse. We really have been poor for the vast majority of the season.

Obviously, at the moment, we're lacking key components like Kane, Sonny and Hugo and some players are running on empty. However, I believe that the system that we're playing is completely unsuited to the players that we've got available and the way that football is officiated now.

One thing sustains me...the fact that there's still a lot of heart in there. After we conceded and packed in sitting back and trying to defend a 1-0 lead against a team without their main goalscorer, we went at Norwich with everything we had and it's been the same in a number of games this season. When the misguided tactics are put aside and we actually play in a manner suiting the players, there's something there still and we've got results from it...and that still pulls at this old heart.

That'll have to do for now but I've got to say that I'm currently glad not to be trying to convince myself to spend over a grand for a season ticket for next season.

I make you spot on here, if we had started the 2nd half playing as we did once they scored we would have won comfortably, Norwich got a lot of credit they didn't really earn on Wednesday as our tactics allowed them to look like the better side, but Vorms mistake aside they actually created very little.

We still have some players who I believe offer us a future - Lo Celso right at the top that list, but Sanchez, Tanganga, Skipp, Bergwyn, Son and Kane with a fully fit Ndombele (if there is such a thing), and probably Hugo for at least another season, can provide a very solid basis for a team that should be able to compete.

I’d add Gedson to that list too. Despite a horrendous penalty I thought he was a bright spark against Norwich, always running at the opposition and creating openings, I’ve been impressed just about every time I’ve seen him and really hope we see more of him this season. He’s shown great versatility as well, played in three positions for us already and doesn’t look out of place in any of them.

I keep thinking Spurs should have called on Rafa while he was available. I think he would have had us playing football instead of what we've been getting.

I can't see United messing up with Norwich, can you?

It seems this is where I came in.I started watching Spurs as a kid when "the Push and Run" team had got old together...….and now the "sideways, backwards" team has got old together (pretty much!).
PLEASE CAN WE HAVE OUR FOOTBALL TEAM BACK,PLEASE? PRETTY PLEASE?
