In addition, Liverpool failed to achieve the 19th consecutive victory, which would be the longest sequence of triumphs of the competition, keeping the record shared with Manchester City from two seasons ago. DOMAIN OF WATFORD IN THE 1st TIME The first half has already served as a warning for Liverpool. It's also the first EPL shut out for Liverpool this season so far as I can tell. Only Atletico Madrid have managed that - the draw against Man Utd was 1-1.... The more I look at it I think this is the finest result and performance by a Watford side. One minor kerfuffle in our penalty area and one shot off the outside of the post were all that gave Watford pause... no last ditch heroic tackles required, no sitters missed, no world class saves required, no "taking one for the team "necessary... just an all round solid performance. Liverpool can moan all they want about "didn't turn up" but, to be fair, we didn't let them turn up.
