I thought he would've been summoned yesterday to be honest so maybe he's been spared. If that is the case he really needs to grasp this opportunity with both hands and get some points on the board!!! I don't dislike Grant McCaan as a person but I think he's struggling to come up with answers to the current situation.

Its an odd one this situation. If the Allams dont sack him, they either have faith he's going to turn it around and keep us up, or they simply dont care about us going down. The worry for me is im not sure how you can have faith in McCann to turn it around, we've seen enough this year alone to show he's out of his depth.

I didn't know, or had forgotten, that (sacked at Peterborough after 7 winless games). Interesting. I thought or assumed he moved on to better himself. Hmmmn

So, Papa & Ehab do not know anything about football. OK, so let's say you are the owner of an American Football Club or some sport that you are vaguely familiar with as a spectator but don't really have a great deal of understanding of the game or the coaching level (you are now the equivalent of Papa & Ehab re football). Your team are in trouble with time running out... you are the non-savvy football owner and you find yourself in the predicament that Papa & Ehab are in right now.........what ya going to do? The sacking of McCann right now and the appointment of Saint Dowie or whatever other name takes your fancy is oh so simple to post up on screen when there are no financial stakes involved for you. So come on, Mr/Mrs/Ms non-savvy football owner .....what do you intend doing to ensure the team survives at this level & yes, you do want it to stay at this level (cut out all the sarcasm). Off the cuff keyboard promulgations and solutions are too easy to spout. Put yourself in the real world for a minute...financial costs, player attitude toward current manager versus someone new - Dowie didn't save us; Silva didn't save us - we are up the creek and you, non-savvy owner, are standing there in your office this Monday, the decision maker. What is your next move?

I think to a large degree we are actually saying the same, as Phil Buckingham put it pounds are more important than points. IMO, they care little about whether the club does well on the field or not as long as they run the business in a financially prudent way. In doing that wherever are the results on the pitch so be it, one is a result of the other.

Me too, but Ehab thinks buying players from lower leagues can then be suddenly turned into multi-million pound players.

I think the policy will be simply hoping we don't get relegated

Well they would have to pay less in wages in league one and I reckon the gate receipts would be about the same as they are now, I don't think they will go much lower.

At the same time they'd have achieved the revenge they've been seeking. Yeah I reckon they can see the beauty in leaving us in the third division.

I'd certainly be summoning Grant McCaan to the boardroom and asking him the same question I'm going to ask you.Do you see 2 points gained from the last 30 possible as a reasonable enough yield? Are the players putting there best efforts in on the pitch? And are you confident enough of being able to turn this round and stave off the financial disaster that relegation would offer?

If the answer, from him,is anywhere near as bizarre as his prediction that we'd get a hammering from Leeds if we didn't step up,I'd probably phone that taxi mob up Springbank and order him a taxi!!!

Owners giving their managers their full support and backing often turns out to be a kiss of death.

To be fair to Gibson, he did give Pulis the sack when he failed to get them promoted. He seems to have more patience than some football club chairmen.
