At least if it is the playoffs and Wembley I escape having to go through the torture it’s my Godaughter’s hen weekend in Ibiza
Disappointing result today, thought Gooch, Wyke and Hume were way off the pace. A couple of changes for the next match to freshen it up and we will be fine. Didn't think Coventry were owt flash at all. We would smash them over 2 legs if we get them in the playoffs.
Well, the last 3 games ,W D and L. The last 2 against rivals for promotion... all is not lost but certainly the odds for automatic promotion are not looking good
Facebook and twitter back to normal after one result. Already seen sack parky comments, Wyke is **** and Gooch should be sold
We only have 2 more games left against teams around us, from the 10 remaining games. Sunderland 2/10 Oxford 2/10 Wycombe 2/10 Posh 3/10 Fleetwood 4/12 Ipswich 4/10 Rotherham 4/10 Coventry 4/11 Pompey 6/11 All is not lost. KTF
Disappointing but not the end of the world, we lost away from home to a team above us, just. Make a few tweaks to the line up and we move on, thats football for you.
Good thing about Parky is he sees it as we do, no bullshit excuses.. .... but he's got to figure out how to get them out the traps early, move the ball better and mix things up top against better teams. Sunderland manager Phil Parkinson: "Disappointed to concede early. We did the same against Fleetwood and it's very frustrating for us. It was always going to be a tight game, we had a few decent chances in the first half and it became a bit frantic towards the end when we were chasing the game. We probably lacked the little bit of quality that we needed when we were trying to get back into the game. "It wasn't a lack of effort, I thought we gave everything. We just needed more composure at times to work our way back into the game."
I certainly think the players gave it their best shot, we created a few chances and did not take them. They scored when we were still asleep...2and game in a row! We lack a goalscorer...
Seems to be a bit of a meltdown over this result (especially over the road). A bit of perspective is needed I think. We played arguably the best team in this league, who have only lost once at home all season and have the joint best defensive record at home (along with us). Yet we were as good as them for most of the game, better at times and despite creating little, we had the better of the chances (other than the goal). The next 6 games are all wins on paper (8 of the last 10 are), so we need to put this behind us and just get back to beating teams. Draws won't do but we're still in the automatic hunt.
It's quite pathetic and embarrassing the meltdowns that happen. We still have 30 points to play for FFS + honestly is anyone really surprised we got beat today? Dissappointed certainly but not enough to meltdown ffs
We finished last season poorly and started this one even poorer ... ... we've lost a fair few players and brought in various new ones of various quality. We are what we are, a League One side hoping to go up as Luton did and who are coming straight back down. If we were a small club, like Fleetwood, we'd all be excited to be in the race ... ... but because we're Sunderland some think we should be leading the race. We have to remember Coventry are a top side in great form, we ran them close but they outplayed us. I'm not having a meltdown, I'm just looking at our next few games and hoping the players can get us up.
