Just back from the game now.

Encouraging how we dug in and came back from the 2 goal deficit.

Could and should have got a third through Bennett (still can't believe he missed).

In saying that, a point was probably fair as they caused us plenty of issues.

Ref and linesmen were woeful. Not sure if any of our quickfire penalty shouts (think there were 4 in a row for combo of fouls and handballs) were genuine, hard to tell from where I was sat.

One point I will make though, for all their pretty football, Brentford disappointed me.
Their diving, constant whining (why the fudge was their keeper coming out of his goal to the halfway line for that pointless handbag incident is beyond me) and dear god, time wasting (from the TENTH minute) were dreadful!
    Shame on them!!!!

I see their manager is having a moan about our wind up merchant Vaulks and battering Ram Paterson.

Oh dear, 2.0 up and you f**cked it up, and should have lost if Bennett could finish and the cheating sh1t of a referee could recognise a penalty when it jumps up and bites him on the ar$e.

Ironically the Brentford manager apparently agrees the late foul on Hoilett was a pen.

Brentford were garbage, marginally better than Forest.

The ref wasn’t looking when Hoilett gets fouled. He’s thinking VAR will sort it out but then forgets VAR is only on the PL<doh>

When you see the live pictures Hoilett was booked and had no contact at all with the defender
Morrison and then Hoilett in a 2 second sequence should have had penalties An absolute disgrace of a referee
Hope the FA takes his license away

I have seen some seriously bad referee/linesman combos over too many years, this on has got to be the worst.
I try not to criticise any officials, but this combo was dire. To add to the piss poor performance the dick laid on a great through ball which the Bees player thankfully fluffed. He should have stopped play! What a dick.

He must be like he is, because he has a very, very small one.

It's such a shame that the comments including mine yesterday on leaving have been about the reffing and not the game. I've criticised Warnock for having a go at the officials too much, but if he'd been there yesterday he'd have had a stroke.

That was easily the worst officials performance I have ever, EVER witnessed. They should be hauled before the EFL or whatever and demoted to a lower standard of football - they were atrocious and seemed hell bent on ensuring we didn't complete the comeback.

On the footballing front why do always give ourselves a mountain to climb by conceding early goals? Two yesterday, two nil down against Charlton, three down against Leeds and probably more I can't be bothered to look where we came back to snatch a point. It seems to be sloppy defending every time not brilliance from the opposition. Coming back from the dead may be a sign of fighting spirit, but I'd prefer not to be dead in the first place.

Was it just me but did the ball hit the bald lump of lard in the 2nd half and he played on? Isn’t the rule he stops play for a drop ball?

I thought Brooks was bad v Wigan but Hooper yesterday was atrocious. The lino on the Ninian Stand side was just incompetent.

Yes Nin, it did hit the ref and he played on.

    Law 9 explains why he played on;

    1. Ball out of play
The ball is out of play when:
    • it has wholly passed over the goal line or touchline on the ground or in the air

    • play has been stopped by the referee

    • it touches a match official, remains on the field of play and:
    • a team starts a promising attack (It wasn't promising) or
    • the ball goes directly into the goal (It didn't) or
    • the team in possession of the ball changes (It didn't)
In all these cases, play is restarted with a dropped ball.

    2. Ball in play
The ball is in play at all other times when it touches a match official and when it rebounds off a goalpost, crossbar or corner flagpost and remains on the field of play

Not withstanding that, I agree it was a poor performance by the ref and the Ninian lino

Do these people still get assessed and how often? Hooper has been consistently useless in the last 3 games he has done at CCS. Or is this the standard we have to accept as they can't get anyone better?

From what I have seen if the standard in the Prem, Mike Dean for instance, perhaps the latter is true.

Was at Bournemouth v Chelsea yesterday with Andre Marriner in charge. Yes, there were one or two decisions, or lack of them perhaps, which got the locals going but overall he was okay.

For me the best refs are ones which you hardly notice and rarely remember after the game. There have been one or two at CCS this season but they are in the small minority. Too many Hoopers, Brooks, Martins and Strouds. These people actually walk amongst us, without carers. <yikes>
