The highlight of today the pints of Worthys Smooth I've sunk in the Sailmakers, that today was dire! I can't warm to a single player, tactics all over the shop, tempo.....non existent.....L**ds closed us down at every opportunity, we just stood off...absolutely abysmal. In such circumstances after 10 games without a win, Terry do us a favour, and f**k off! Now to another pint!
Funny really because terry was appointed because he fitted our attacking identity according to Ehab Unfortunatley we are an attacking team that can’t keep possession and can’t manage a shot on goal.
says it all, tws gave Billy Casper a debut. Not one City player bothered to introduce themselves, no one got within two yards of him. He started the game a quivering wreck and walked off the KC pitch 10 foot tall. Surely he should have been bundled into his own net at least once, and had his toes trodden on at every corner?
I was screaming this all the way through. He looked nervous, his distribution was woeful, his shorts didn't fit him and he spent too much time swinging on the crossbar. Ok, maybe not the last two. But we should have peppered him with a few shots early doors and swung some high crosses in with instructions for Thug Magennis to introduce himself up close and personal. But what do we do? Give him nothing meaningful to do for the first hour.
I think the title of the thread should be amended to '11 players' with no identity. They certainly are NOT a team.
The identity is Team Allam Words saying one thing, "creating a sustainable club with it's own identity of playing attractive attacking football with young exciting talent that fans will want to watch" and resources (players & manager) / reality giving a different outcome Until change comes at the top this is the 'Team"
I listened to RH whilst watching and Swanny kept saying I;d have clattered him by mow, elbow in his ribs, a little word , just let him know the next time the ball came in the box he better be ready.... on one occasion he said about Magennis. why didnt he clatter him...
No fight, little heart, no confidence, no idea what team mates are doing, where they are, too few seem willing to accept responsibility for making themselves free for a pass, no one appears to want to 'be brave' on the ball, soft centre and worst of all ( to my mind), they keep making the wrong decisions when we have possession.
Sky commentator referred to Bielsa saying that he made his players practise their playing roles repeatedly to the point of boredom. Result, they know what they are doing and what their team mates will be doing and how and when to find them. Doesn't look like we do any of this.
allams have almost been forgiveni do feel sorry for the fans who have stayed "loyal" to the club (and the allams pockets) i like many others stopped going a few years ago and i can now take it or leave it re the teams fortunes asnd the clubs politics. it seems to me that the allams are happily letting the club sink slowly without it looking that way so no big official fa/fl dude cancels their easy money. my lad was seething over the way city fans and leeds fans were dealt with by the stewards on saturday and i see posters on here upset by the way the allams have allowed a prem team and manager to end up being no more than league 1. whereas me? not really that bothered. its all down to the allams and their economics. and no amount of bleating about it or moaning will change things. no point getting riled and no point supporting the team because it isnt hull citys team but the allams team. sad thing is if they do sell the club on i and others may be too old to come back and rediscover the joy we used to have being a city fan. i have discovered other things to replace the matchday experience such as online gambling knitting and self harming. i bet the allams think thought they were on the verge of being forgiven before our bad run. and its taken poor results to kickstart the allam out chants. which to me stunk. im not that clued up with the finances but can anyone see the club being sold while they are making lots of money in interest out of their loan to "us"?
Good post Chillo. Most of it resonates deeply. In answer to your question, no, I can't see them selling. Enob pretty much said the Bowen sale offsets any running cost losses, after theyve take their interest on the gift, for the next 2 or 3 years. They clearly aim to have the next Bowen or two before then, and so it will go on. As you say, it no longer feels like ours, it's theirs, and again as you rightly say, no amount of getting upset or riled will change a damn thing. ****ing depressing.
As with all owners it's their business, it'll never be their club. I support the team not the regime. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
As a one time attendee and supporter for sixty years and having gone through the mid sixties highs subsequent lows and monumental highs of the Premier League and FA Cup, I currently feel nothing but sadness and loss of what might have been. I never thoght we would win the league or the European Cup but we could have become an established team in the top flight but the Allams with their perfect business acumen and Bruce with his shortcomings killed that possibility. I watched part of the game against Leeds and to be honest, I fear for the rest of the season and the future.
Swanny checking on here for journo ideas........Hull City searching for a new identity! https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/hull-city-fans-grant-mccann-3903252
Good piece by Swan. There's little point in changing the manager now, he has as good a chance as anyone getting the max out of this squad. And the two up front on Saturday worked well at times against a very strong side, and is worth repeating in more winnable games to come. We need two wins. We need to get back on the front foot to do that. 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2 will help that.
