At least with only two CB's available the hated 5-3-2 will be scrapped. Neither Pearce nor Oshilaja are anything more than defenders, so if we are not going to revert to the habit of passing the ball back to Phillips under pressure, followed by a hoof then we lose it, we need a midfield in front of them who can play a bit. Oz hasn't done enough to keep his place so Phillips; Matthews, Oshilaja, Pearce, Purrington; Lapslie, Cullen, Doughty; Green; Bonne, Taylor. Assuming that Morgan is out of the reckoning, otherwise he comes in for Doughty.
What price KAG to score against us tomorrow? I’m optimistic that we can get a point IF we start on the front foot & play a positive pressing game. I can see the mood turning if we repeat the Sheff Wed performance.
Very much this. We need the sort if enthusiasm we showed at Forest, not another abject surrender of most of the pitch. Huddersfield Will be up for this, but we do have quality here and there to stamp ourselves on the game. What the hell, 2-1 Charlton.
ELFs AND I HAVE HAD TECHNICAL PROBLEMS TODAY WHICH HAVE PREVENTED US LOGGING IN AND POSTING OUR USUAL C RAP UP TO NOW. @Beware of the Virus THOUGHT I HAD BANNED HIM Xx
Away fans I salute you Miserable weather week-in, week-out, hours of travelling, and so often nothing to take back on the way home. I'm no admirer of fans who think of themselves as part of an 'elite' because they travel to away games, but nobody on this forum does that. You are all top people, who deserve maximum respect. Safe journeys today
Great support @Clb74 and @Miketyson2007Junior I’ve been to Huddersfield the once (1-1 draw), chalked it off, not intending on rushing back. Safe journey & hope you get rewarded with a performance.
Any guesses to the line up & formation today? It’s hard to see us keeping a clean sheet without Lockyer & Pratley. Id play a midfield 4 of Lapslie, Cullen, Morgan and Oztumer. We needs fresh legs and creativity.
This is from the Yorkshire post ... Having finally seen his first-choice front four in action, manager Danny Cowley is hoping he can roll out Fraizer Campbell, Karlan Grant, Emile Smith Rowe and Chris Willock again at home to Charlton Athletic this afternoon. Smith Rowe, on loan from the Gunners, has hit the ground so impressively he is already being talked about as Mesut Ozil’s successor. Willock, who made his debut for the club as a 16-year-old, had to leave to kick-start his career but his Arsenal education paid dividends on Tuesday’s goalscoring full Huddersfield debut. I can see a back four of ... Matthews, Pearce, Oshi, Purrington ... having problems with those four
We'll probably only have two CB's available, so 4-4-2 it will be. Morgan seems to be out of the picture altogether I'm afraid, which is a pity. I expect: Phillips; Matthews, Oshilaja, Pearce, Purrington; Lapslie, Davis, Cullen, McGeady; Green, Taylor. Should be another backs-to-the-wall performance.
The time to make a killing on us getting relegated was when we were flying high. Much as I love seeing bookies lose I've never quite been able to do it.
I always think Pearce plays well in "big" games, he's been average to poor recently so hopefully he steps up.
