This is great news - now we've got an extra month in the summer to get nobody in.......... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51664094
Great news! We'll be OK now in the summer window. VT has just come into another £110M cash windfall.......... https://www.theedgemarkets.com/arti...s-hotel-kyoto-rm187b-cash-realise-rm600m-gain
WoL reported VT looking to buy Malaga FC in Spain. They are in administration. Can he not divert his spare cash our way instead? Also saw an article that EFL clubs are debating limiting Championship club wage bills to £20m per year. Us and Swans were around £50m per year at last accounts in 2018. While overall this makes financial sense it will make it even harder for clubs promoted to the Prem to stay there as they will have to spend squillions to attract and pay for new players. Also such a restriction would have to be applied over a lengthy time period both for clubs already paying over the limit and clubs relegated from the Prem. Apparently there is a counter proposal for the limot to be £30m. Interesting times......
Wouldn't it be fantastic if we could have salary caps across ALL the divisions? Imagine, League 2 - £10 mill League 1 - £20 mill Championship - £30 mill Prem - £40 mill No matter how big or wealthy your club, you were limited to it.... Then do something similar with transfer budgets.... THEN we'd certainly see some interesting times. Would Pep, Jose, Klopp and co still rise to the top???
And a pre-season draft like American Football and adverts every time the ball goes out of play. 3 hour matches? Joking aside, this would need to be a worldwide thing so no country's teams would be advantaged. Or UK teams would not be disadvantaged. Can you imagine Spanish, Italian, Russian, middle eastern or Chinese clubs sticking to that?
How does that work with relegated clubs? You have a 100m wage bill in the prem. Through the summer you have to get 80m off the wage bill. Makes a farce of parachute payments.
Well he said he was going to do it................... https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/l-a-soccer-team-gets-record-setting-700-million-plus-valuation-1.1397678
