Noticed on a couple of Occasions , things got quite heated between McCann and Cliff Byrne.

They should have scored two more goals had Pennington not cleared them both away. There’s no papering over this performance as ‘Lucky’. Barnsley thoroughly deserved that win. They were superior in every single position on the pitch.

    We are an absolute shambles.

Can't scapegoat long for the loss. Midfield did nothing to protect a back 4, who in turn did nothing to protect their 'keeper.... And that's without looking at a powder puff forward line who did nothing to relieve pressure on the midfield. Chuck enough water at a dam and it will always break. Yeah, he conceded 1 but in realty he was only one that prevented us conceding 4 by half time.

Decent sides defend from the front. We were sh*te from front to back in that first half.

I remember seeing him like that against Derby in a league cup. If you recall, we had kids playing and he needed to step up lead from the front but he couldn't be arsed.

McCann needs to be fired before its too late. Its clear he does not have a clue. Like most Irishmen a good talker. He has had his chance and has been allowed to bring in the players that hoe wanted. Mostly ones that he managed before. Time for him to go and get someone who can save us from the ignomy of relegation to Div 1.

Just got back. Two diversions and a steady mph. I will not be going back on Saturday. I've got one more ticket left on my saver. Probably the Boro match.

At the risk of chazz biting my head off and calling me a ****ing ****er. We were **** tonight, have been for some time, and this lot are not going to save us from relegation.

When an average championship manager walks away, and other league 1 managers turn us down, and he has a budget that doesn't stretch to proven championship players, I'm not buying that they're the players he ' wants'.

They're just the best he feels he can get in the circumstances.

However, The lack of fight, organisation and flexibility on show in the past 2 months is beginning to border on unforgiveable.

Probably cos he knows we have 5 games between now and mid March, 4 of which we should be aiming to get something from.

If we don't pick up points he'll be gone. Maybe sooner if it looks like there's little prospect of a win in that run of games.

Thankfully I decided not to wake up at 3 am to watch the game, that at least makes me feel a bit better I didn't miss a classic.

After watching the Preston game I thought things were improving and we would start to see an upturn in results, how wrong I was by the sound of it!

Finally, the manager has admitted to be looking down now rather than up the league, when everyone but himself has been doing that for a few games now. Talk about sleepwalking into relegation.

Well, I did say in my previous post that typical City we will lose to Barnsley and beat TWS, I think I have been deluding myself.

Wish I’d followed you John, I’ve been in Perth since 6/2 and not missed a game. I’ve been getting up at stupid-o-clock for the night games so my sleep pattern is completely screwed, and obviously I’ve not seen a win.

Last nights performance was absolutely dire yet McCann comes across in his post match interviews as not having a clue how to halt the slide, he could make a decent start by dropping and taking the armband off a totally ineffective Irvine, put Batty, Samuelsen or any ****er on in his place and give the armband to Stewart if Jordy is going to be out injured.

To me for him not to see how ineffective Irvine has been is a crime, he’s the manager so surely he should spot these things, but as you rightly say he appears to be sleep walking to relegation.

Roll our sleeves up? If that’s the best you can offer McCann you need to go today!!!

I had my laugh earlier so time for a serious question. I just looked at your league form, in the 10 games this year you have earned 5 points.

That must mean you were not too far off the play off places at Christmas. And - as won’t have escaped your notice - keep up half a point a game and relegation is still possible.

What has changed since the Autumn? I read the criticisms but wouldn’t a lot of that have been true last year too? This is a post Christmas collapse worthy of Leeds.

I’d wish you better luck for the rest of the season but a) you wouldn’t believe it and b) there’s the little matter of gifting us 3 points first please.

We sold our best two players in January and half our first team squad has been out injured since Christmas.

The last ten mins was embarrassing , backs to the wall for Barnsley you’d expect , keeper under pressure . Nah ; we could barely get the ball off them , kept having to remind myself we weren’t playing Liverpool . Bottom of the league and they coasted to an away victory

Watching Grant McCann for the last 10 weeks or so has been like watching The Apprentice. Those who have watched it will see someone who is totally out of their depth, stood in the background (touchline) hands in pockets and you wonder why they're still in it. Some weeks they're on the winning team, happy days, but on the losing team they're quick to deflect blame from themselves, or worse accept they did anything wrong. They manage to keep in the competition because they come across as likeable, blame injuries, blame injuries, blame injuries or finally officials, until you get to the week where the bulldogs look at your CV and business plan (game plan) and rip you to shreds. Last night McCann was before the bulldogs. I just hope today I hear the immortal words "You're Fired!!"

In past seasons when we've hit a slump we could look and think 'The players we've got are better than this and wins will come'.This season and especially after the loss of Bowen and Grosicki,I'm struggling to see how!! Our current playing squad is absolutely dire and yes, injuries are playing a part in unsettling any fluidity but McCann has brought in and has at his disposal a group of players who simply aren't up to the job.On current form and based on players on the pitch we have absolutely no chance on Saturday,a result that could see us slip even closer to the bottom 3 and one which may decide the future of Grant McCann.....
