Has anyone been watching the XFL? It's another spring league, hopefully this one will at least make it to the end of the season but there have been some pretty interesting games so far, especially last night's Renegades v Vipers game. The PAT rules are similar to that of the AAF, but the you can hear the chatter between the refs when a flag has been thrown and the calls being called by the OC or HC for a team. It's... interesting

It is interesting. I watched a few games over the past three weeks. Consistency of play is, uh, not consistent.

I like the 1-2-3 extra point concept and the kickoff return rules.

Yes, kick-offs are pretty pointless in the NFL as it stands.

The defence can be a bit dodgy at times too. It's like watching a team of Xavier Rhodeses

So week four coming up. Attendances have steadily increased since week one while TV ratings have declined. From what I can gather the first XFL also had relatively decent attendances but the league died due to low TV ratings though again from what I can gather even TV ratings are up this time compared to last time for the same period... I hope it lasts though, it would be nice to have something to fill in the tide between the super bowl and September... Heck, I'd like to see more teams, though if they were to add two more teams to make two divisions of five teams, I'd like at least one of them to be from a non nfl city... Though I'm not sure what they were thinking giving LA a team given how crap the chargers support is.

The league will last as long as the broadcasters stay behind it.
It was predictable that there would be a boom in attendance, followed by a lull.
If the quality of play improves, people will come back out to see it.

So the XFL has died... Because of corona virus. It didn't quite last as long as the AAF but you can't blame the league on this one. It says it'll be back in 2021... Whether that actually happens or not remains to be seen.

Would be nice if it does come back with a new franchise or two. Maybe one from Minnesota and/or some non nfl cities...

It's coming back this spring in 2022, so I'm holding out potential.
