.... must look at our club and the way it is run and think... ‘I can never go there to work under those people’....’

even if Bruce went we would just have some other bottom feeding no mark yes man come in as a puppet.

until Ashley goes we are toxic and ****ed.

I dunno, depends on the pay doesn't it?

And there will be a few managers out there thinking imagine how good it would look if I managed to turn that pile of **** squad into match winners. If you do manage it, your stock only rises.

Question is how many are willing to gamble on it

Point was proven that Arteta turned it down, Vieira turned it down, Van Bronckhorst turned it down, god knows how many others and we landed with Bruce. It tells you something's wrong. The facilities aren't up to scratch, the staff aren't, the setup isn't, the owner certainly isnt. We are very much a Championship side punching above our weight and relegation will return - everybody knows it, then sometimes you get a lackey like Bruce who'll accept it.

Van brockenhurst (sp) didn't turn us down. We turned him down didn't we?

If you do well at Newcastle your stock rises considerably. Hughton, Pardew And even Rafa (at the top level) were disrespected constantly when they first came to us.

Hughton started as some coach, left as a up and coming coach with an ability to get teams up and stay up.

Pardew was head hunted, after rotting in league one, by a high spending Palace who saw him as their success route.

Rafa left as a cult hero, linked to every premier league job almost and took a multi-million dollar contract in China.

My point is, if a manager comes here, they can improve on their career prospects incredibly. If we were 12th and safe now with Big Sam, they'd be singing his praises, if we were in the same boat with any manager the media would have a ****fest over it.

We can attract managers, but it's us who need to start picking selectively and ensuring that no matter the squad they can squeeze out results. Our scouting system is the problem.

Personally if we are being as realistic as possible here, I would have went for Gary Monk. He's at a similar level to Bruce but younger and has much to learn.

He would have given us something new and interesting. I'm gutted we didn't go for him.

You're obviously not familiar with some insider stories on Monk, mate.

I'd like the American coach at RB Salzburg, Jesse Marsch.

    Backhanders and helping mates out.

"Boro are said to believe they overpaid for Cyrus Christie, with the agent receiving £100,000 for the deal and that they have concerns over the fee paid for Marvin Johnson.

The reports also claimed Boro believe Monk may have known a deal to sign Ashley Fletcher could have been struck for less than half the £7m fee eventually paid. And how a separate agent told them Featherstone had asked to be involved in the transfer of Ryan Shotton from Birmingham."

He may have been linked but was never offered any job and as for left for China, probably agreed in May to go because no one else wanted him and the small matter of $10m .

    Hmm seems speculative to me.

Eitherway, the man wouldn't have control of transfers at Newcastle so those rumours are none important.

Scouting is a problem but it definitely isn’t the problem. The problem is Ashley.

I agree the club is a ****ing mess, but you can't call us a championship side just cos we're struggling atm, by that logic you could call most of the bottom half of the table championship sides.

The fact is we've been in the Prem for 25 seasons out of the last 27, and both times we were in the championship we absolutely massacred the division. We ain't a championship side, just a poor Premier League side.

Has been like that for a good few seasons, the season we finished tenth any of the bottom 10 could have dropped that season including us.

True. Maybe one day people will stop believing the Sky hype and actually believe their own eyes.

Too many players are willing to sit on a bench thinking that 15 substitute appearances of 10 min and 4 starts a season enables them to believe they are PL winners as it's too much to expect them to play 50 games a season.
