What I find weird is not the accusation as I think he clearly believed he heard racist chanting but the innuendo that the club, the tv companies and the police have colluded to cover it up. I also think that claiming the booing he got this Saturday was because of him voicing his concerns (back in December) is typical footballer arrogance. It has not occurred to him (or the Guardian newspaper) that he was booed cos off him play acting to get Son sent off in that game (yes Diego ... Son deserved the card regardless.)
I am certain Rudiger was getting abuse from the crowd because of his disgraceful performance to get Son sent off. The abuse was because he cheated, not because he was black. Any player, no matter what race or nationality, acting as he did in a opponents stadium, would have received this abuse but exhaustive investigations by the club and the police failed to find any evidence that this abuse was racially motivated.
In today's world, spin is all. The hacks aren't going to pass up an opportunity to ramp this up. In Chelsea, Rudiger plays for a club with a highly active, racist element but they're on a major exercise to paper over the cracks by pointing the finger at us...and last week at United over homophobic chanting. Their support is no less racist or homophobic than it was...and ours is no more, but their PR campaign is in overdrive, whilst we've not got a ****ing clue...yet again.
With all the money players in the PL are earning, they should be laughing all the way to the bank. But no. I'm black and they don't like us.....as in....I'm white and they don't like us. Ignore 'em and blind 'em with football science on the field. Beat 'em on the field and send those fans home crying!!!!!
