Was so worth getting up for. Fury was immense. Battered him. Surely wilder won't take up the rematch after that.
Canny fight like, Wilder was ****ed after that right hook to his lug in the 2and. Ref should have stopped it long before the 7th in my opinion or at the very least his corner. Blood pissing out of your lip is one thing but not out of your ear like. There was a shot at one point in slow mo when fury pretended to lick it off his neck, both of them were totally splattered in blood. Proper fight that was like, AJ wouldn't stand a chance against either of them.
AJ would beat Wilder comfortably. I would put him down as likely to lose to Fury but it being a much better fight than Wilder.
Enjoyed it. Great spectacle and you have to respect Fury and his team for the game plan. The worry for Wilder would be is Fury has just confirmed what many have been saying since some earlier fights when he struggled, Wilder is completely nullified on the back foot. His power and his ability to land going back over is very limited (largely because he just doesn't have the footwork). I get all the inevitable discussion around the respective heavyweights and how they'd fare against each other. Personally though I still think all of them are capable of beating each other. Wilder is still capable of knocking out both AJ and Fury, and Fury has just shown he can stop Wilder. Everything in my head tells me Fury would lead AJ a merry dance and would stop him. However I think AJ is more than capable of smashing Wilder to pieces, and we've seen Fury can be hit clean. AJ is a better boxer than Wilder (not difficult) so you'd have to think he'd be able to hurt and stop Fury too on a given night. Fury is number 1 for me now though. AJ and Wilder are on similar footing for me. AJ has fought the better opponents over the course of his career, its defo less padded than Wilder. But Wilder has stepped up his level in recent times because Ortiz and Fury are serious opponents. AJ is a better boxer, but regardless all the stick he's taking, Wilder is still a massive puncher. Division is still wide open and there are lot of decent heavyweights on the way up too, some with great amateur pedigrees. The likes of Whyte, Dubois, Efe Ajagba, Hrgovic, Joe Joyce, Tony Yoka will all think they'll be testing the top 3 out over the next 2 years. Joyce is just heavy handed for me, he is not very good technically for someone who stayed amateur so long. I still think Whyte lacks the discipline despite what he says. the others are all useful though.
Good analysis. With respect to Wilder, I think now that he has been found out, a lot of fighters would be able to beat him. He can't box and, overall, isn't a heavy puncher. He has one almighty punch but if you can take that away from him he doesn't have anything else. As for AJ and Fury, I remember the 12th round of the Kitchko v Fury fight. After being hypnotised or something for 11 rounds, Klit suddenly remembered he was allowed to throw punches and caused Fury a lot of problems. AJ boxes better than Wilder or, I think, Kitchko. He generally hits much harder than Wilder except that he doesn't have Wilder's killshot. I'd put Fury 60/40 but it would be interesting. I personally don't rate Joyce. I think Whyte could on his day beat anyone. Dubois looks promising but I haven't seen a lot of him. Don't know anything about the rest of the names you've mentioned. Usyk will be interesting. Brilliant boxer but a midget by the standards of the division.
I am fascinated to see how Usyk fares. Logically the first proper heavyweight who can close off a ring effectively should really be too big for him. His skill set however does give him an interesting angle. I just can't see past his natural weight. Its not like Holyfield who was boiling down. I'm not even sure its fully comparable to Haye. We have a habit in this country of believing the next big one is coming from these isles. They might as we have a thriving division. However the likes of Yoka and Hrgovic going off amateur pedigree alone should be going places. Dave Allen took a lot of punishment of Yoka, and whereas his delivery of punches was clearly good, for someone of that size hitting Allen so clean so often, he didn't seem to have much of a punch? Big lad at 6ft 7in, only 27ish and he ain't carrying much fat so probably good development to come physically.
