Was right in front of me, there was a bit of argy bargey immediately before, and no doubt Maguire probably wound him up but it was definitely a straight red, in my opinion
Haven't got a vid, but my take on it is: Maguire slipped and gave their lad a sniff at getting the ball, Maguire went shoulder to shoulder with him and he didn't like that so he kicked out at him. The most surprising thing about the whole incident is the ref actually saw it through his blindfold.
Pleased PP is our manager. I would have had Gooch off at HT. Thought he had lost it today and was poor. Then that 1st goal. Superb RTB.
Charlie Wykes goal. His brother tweeted "I have never ever seen him move so fast since I caught him playing with a Barbie doll at 14". Class.
As it’s unrealistic to think we’ll win every game , would we accept only a draw Tuesday, in return for a win Saturday ? (I would )
Me and a few blokes around me all said that it wasn't happening for Goochy today, and that Parky should take him off. Two minutes later...... 1-0!
Nope, beat dirty cheating racist thug Barton on Tuesday... then on Sunday beat dirty cheating Coventry... it's on!
Seen the replay and how quick was Gooch to sort his feet out to get a decent strike on the cross, class.
Well you cannot argue about his goals.. They are much needed. However Gooch isn't a winger, he is not fast enough and he canno dribble that well ( with a couple of noted exceptions) but playing behind Wyke he gets chances and his scoring.
Yes, this is all really really lovely but tbh I find it a little sexist ... ... to redress the balance I've prepared some very tasteful photos of myself in my nightie. Please pm me with a name and address to receive your free copy. Let no one ever say I've ever deprived decent Sunderland people a little glimpse of my glamorous lifestyle
after that first half i really started to think it was going to be one of those days where we would do everything but score and they would get one break away and score...happy to be proved wrong not a bad side like imho, played some good football and tried to keep it on the floor...the now usual little niggling pushes and 'tackles' aside it was not a bad game, was a tad dubious at first about the sending off, but (bristol) commentators noted that someone they know had seen replays and there was no doubt about it...never like to see a player sent off, tends to spoil a game but credit to bristol, they tried to make a fight of it. anyway, another game gone and a little closer to the top two so have to be happy, onward to that horrible fecker on tuesday.
If we win the next two we are up. I would still like to see the displays where other teams are nowhere near us. There are a few too many times when we struggle but break them down later on via tiredness or a sending off. I am off on Honeymoon next Saturday night....for once in my life SAFC please give me and our lass a great send off!
Marrying during the season! Absolutely outrageous. Having said that congrats to you and your good lady.
