Predicted 1-3 but we got nowhere near them by the sound of it. Going nowhere with this team and manager. Will end up 8-12th and had very few enjoyable home performances.

Time for a new broom this summer methinks.

Glad to see the game was switched so we played at home (DUH!) but we lost anyway. Was this a real stinker or did the bug get us big time? It's sad to see us lose these vital home games and time is slowly running out for redemption and a possible play-off berth. At least we are technically and points wise in a position to get there but it will surely require way better performances than of late.

I can't see Lee going anywhere soon or indeed during the summer break before next season.

That my friends was furking shocking once again.
Where is the Wells that was at QPR-Nagy is a fraction of the player who signed.Baker not playing best central defender at the gate.Kalas not playing.

LJ taken city as far as he can.Leeds WBA Brentford blew us away and deserved their wins.

22 years consecutive STs in different divisions but this football is as turgid as I can remember.

I had a feeling that the reports from those at the game would say we were as bad as it gets. My biggest concern is that with all the money spent on these supposed better players we are about as far from the full meal deal as ever before. As the team evolved over the last few years we had some high hopes of a better lot and, despite the savage blow at losing Afobe, we still are wandering in some fog at the moment and the inconsistency beggars belief. Basically we have become stagnant and lifeless and until the boys get their mojo back and decide we deserve better commitment we risk falling even further from grace. Over to you Lee!

‘We must stay strong and believe’ – Johnson
    Saturday, February 22nd 2020

Lee Johnson says City can muster a promotion challenge if they stay strong and believe over the course of the next 12 games.

Individual mistakes cost City on Saturday as they lost 3-0 at home to West Brom, but Johnson believes his players can stand up and rise to the challenge.

They sit only one place outside the top six and the head coach says a mix of attack and “more stoutly” defending will help the cause of challenging for the play-offs.

    Hear Lee Johnson’s post-match thoughts:

    Better quality needed
“I didn’t think there was an awful lot in the game. I thought we started bright in the first 10/15 minutes and we didn’t work the goalkeeper but we got into good areas, had a couple of dangerous free kicks and had deliveries we should have done better with or got on the end of.”

    Individual errors
“We had a little spell of a lot of individual errors which led to conceding free kicks, corners, players not doing their jobs and at that point you have to ride out those moments against a good side. We did that and then we shot ourselves in the foot with a poor individual error for the first, two poor individual errors for the second and a bad one for the third.

“I’m not going to chastise the players for their effort because they worked hard. At times, West Brom showed their quality, at times we made bad decisions that played into their hands and we have to accept we failed to go against the top two teams. It doesn’t mean that in these final 12 games that we can’t be successful.”

    Everyone can inspire each other
“I want the players to inspire each other and the staff who do an awful lot for the boys. There’s a lot of hard work that goes into the preparation and for them to go and execute it on the day.

“Naturally people will speak negatively of us after two losses and that’s where we have to create the cause, stay strong and we have to try and perform to our best to go and get wins. We can do that, we have done it before. I believe in the squad, the individuals. The dilemma now is about which individual is ready to come in and take the opportunity, but the focus is on the next opportunity at Huddersfield.”

    Stepping up
“The shape becomes a dilemma. I have two centre-forwards there, we’ve bought in Nahki Wells and lost Josh Brownhill which today we saw was a big loss but we gained the goal-scoring quality and finesse of Nahki Wells. Somebody has to step into Josh Brownhill’s shoes and they have to do that in their own way, not be Josh Brownhill, but be the best version of themselves.

“We need to find that balance quickly to then go and not only win matches by scoring, but also defend more stoutly than we have in these last two games.”

I get so fed up of hearing excuses week after week, I just don't get all of the failures, all of the excuses and with respect all of the waffle, we played yet another poor game, we were outclassed and out played according to reports, it seems other teams are better prepared and coordinated than we are, time after time we are playing a style that produces lifeless, poor football and yet we are still high flyers in the league.

I just don't get it, it will be interesting to see what develops over the next series of games.

    Hi R&W.
I took Mrs R to Nerja end Jan/mid Feb to see my brother who spends Jan - March down there every year.
I couldn't believe how beautiful the weather was and coming back was a real let down.
Where do you stay down there ?

We always stay in Arroyo de la Miel - Benalmádena. 10 mins walk from the marina/beach and 10 mins walk the other direction to the train station.
An old school friend has a flat there and she lets us have it at ‘mates rates’ and we go 2-3 times a year.
We went to Nerja last October for a Halloween evening on a coach trip - we had a great night.
I still hope to retire out there in a few years time.
I have to wait until August for our next visit and Mrs R&W was talking about squeezing a half-term trip back to Spain in October - but we do have holidays in Hungary (April) and Bulgaria (May) to look forward to - plus my work is likely to take me to Lisbon again this year so I can’t complain!
Glad you enjoyed it there - it really is lovely <cheers>

LOL! I’ve taken out a ‘salary sacrifice’ to max out all my holiday entitlement - I’ve got to the point in my life where I value time off more than I used to value money.
I’m sure your brother knows that area better than me if he lives there, but PM me if you’re going again soon and I can recommend some good places to visit.

My mother and step father have two properties in Costa Del Sol. They are in mine and my step brothers names. There is one in Dequesa and one in Sotogrande. They are both long term let but Dequesa is my favourite and spent a bit of time over there between lets.
