They initially said that it was correct, then changed their minds later on, having seen the social media reaction to it.
As expected, our 3rd game in less than 6 days and Chelsea had a week to prepare, and they were half a yard quicker to the ball than us. GLC was lucky to stay on the pitch, but we were due one to go our way when you consider Robertson, Sterling, Capoue and Cantwell all should have seen red against us, but stayed on the pitch. Tactically, I am not going to question Mourinho, his record suggests he knows what he is doing, though I`m sure we can all pick holes in our play and realize the football we are playing has its problems. Once again a player that should be in prison scores against us, how Spursy is that? This season has been one problem after another and I can`t wait for it to be over, hopefully Levy builds us a proper squad this summer (I would not put money on it) and we can go again next season, I`ll reserve full judgement on Mourinho until then.
So that's twice since the turn of the year where a win would put us in fourth, and twice we've ****ed it up But the manager has a "winner's mentality" and that fixed everything...
He can only pass it on but it’s obvious that the Losers mentality that exists at our club as a collective overrides one man’s thinking therefore a lot more time is required than 3 months to shift the Equilibrium
I don’t think anyone is saying Mou has fixed everything, regardless it takes time to change the mentality of a group of players, if that is indeed what needs to be done. We can all pick holes in certain strategies and lineups but he is also dealing with some circumstances that are not under his control that most managers would struggle with. Today was hugely disappointing but major surgery is needed on a squad that looked broken earlier this season. The man needs time to work.
If VAR is going to cave in to public pressure, what is the point of it. I seem to be in a very small minority that thought it was not a red card, but like everybody I have only seen the broadcast footage. If VAR officials now start giving decisions that they think social media want them to give, go back to the old system. A referee, who should understand the game more than the general public decided there was no foul play even after seeing extra footage. He should not change his mind. This now leads to the possibility of a retrospective ban for Lo Celso because of public pressure and is not acceptable.
VAR was over ruled after it sent off Son at Everton...if Lo Celso gets a ban it is cos he should have been sent off but VAR was an arse just like it was re Robertson and Stirling at WHL
How far along the line should the decision process go. If Lo Celso does get a ban should we go CAS? I heard somewhere that it was the refs decision to send off Son, not VAR.
They can't ban Lo Celso. The ref saw it, VAR ruled on it and that's the end of it. They may changed the rule after this, but he's not going to get done for it.
Although I don't know the rules, I doubt Lo Celso will get a retrospective ban (even though he deserves one if we're being honest). Both the referee AND VAR deemed the tackle not red card worthy at the time, surely if two sets of officials made that decision it then can't go to a third panel? Otherwise it further makes a mockery of VAR.
In a democracy the minority usually makes the right decision paul and I'll join you in thinking it was not stamping with intent. Azpiluctta slid in under the feet of Lol Celso. Or if you disagree when did Lol Celso become such a dirty player that he stamps deliberately.???? This is the problem with VAR it relies on humans to make the choice and they have already shown that they are not capable of taking into account looking at something in slow motion does to the perception. The majority may shout us down but the fact that there are different opinions on this shows why VAR is a menace to the game as I thought it would be in the first place. Giroud was not offside because they changed the rules AGAIN.
I aint arguing he should be banned and considering the fact that neither Stirling or Robertson were retrospectively banned it would be a joke to do that to Lo Celso imho
Let's halt the season and start again in August. VAR will be ticked,Liverpool will be ticked and Lampard will shoot himself!
