nope..... my mum uses it all the time. Think it’s one of those rare words that are totally unique to Hull
And still have more fans in their ground than som clubs in a higher division have. And take more way for longer distances. That, and the fact they own their ground will make them more likely to be sold more quickly than some other ones.
Yes, being called sophisticated can be hurtful. (I remember a teacher saying I was sophisticated. - in the original sense of the word. Foolishly at the time I thought he was being complimentary.)
Yeah, and probably to another **** owner. Let's see how 15 years in the 3rd and 4th tiers sorts out their fan base
Originating from the fact that the last payment of each member into the saving scheme was kept by the person running it as recompense for all the hard work involved. The person running it was said to diddlum out of some of their savings.
It is another word amongst quite a few, which people think is unique to Hull and isn’t. People in Brid use it as do immigrants from Leeds, Sheffield and elsewhere.
Didn’t know that!! Such a strange word. I did wonder if it was another adopted Viking word like larking
Sorry for this to put hope in people's minds, but did anybody else notice Ehab's wording in the latest Q and A? "We’ve been selling for five years and it hasn’t gone through up until now. Although we are hopeful, it’s really difficult to say.” Until now? Was that a slip?
Oh I don't think it's been sold, I just think it was an odd choice of words considering he was choosing what he said so carefully.
More worrying, so is Peter Ridsdale. Though he is adviser to the owners of Preston. ****ing hell, how dense are they?
A great time to buy a football club if you're on day release from the funny farm. You know you're in big trouble when the bookies are offering 6/1 on your team winning their next home game in the Championship.
I saw that earlier. Bar the odd PL game, have we ever been that price at home since we moved to the new stadium? We're now 5/1 for relegation, I lumped on at 85/1 half an hour after we sold Grosicki.
Still can't believe no one's out there to save us from these clowns. Aren't we due some consortium to make an offer, have it accepted only for it to collapse because the Allams want us to go to a good home? A good home??!!? ****ing hell... You couldn't make it up.
Just gone 13/2, Leeds 2/5 thanks to the deflated manager saying he expects a hammering if they play like that again - stating the bleeding obvious. I can't ever remember them given such no-hoper odds at home in this division. They say never back odds on, sadly if ever there's a time to ignore that advice it is now.
How can any manager make a statement like that. I would prefer something like ‘ You won’t see any team I put out play like that again. I will leave no stone unturned to make sure we don’t ever turn in another performance like last night’ I have never heard the like of McCann’s statements. It’s like he does not have a ****ing clue what to do.
