Morning all. Another lovely Springlike morning and I have just been watching a Red Admiral butterfly sunning itself on a stone in the garden. At this time of year all of their colours are so vibrant, and their wings are still complete. Yesterday on my trip out, the aircon in the car switched itself on as the temperature inside was above 23°C . It is not that warm outside, but with no wind now it feels fine. Have an enjoyable day.
Evening all.. Just done a course today on Indian desserts.. Which for a diabetic is either heaven or hell... or both!
Morning all. Dry, but quite a lot of cloud about with the sun breaking through briefly from time to time. So it is Man.Utd away for us, and Wolves away for the Canaries, neither of them easy games. Both home teams played midweek so maybe they will be feeling the strain and we can both pick up some points. One can always hope and the performances have not been that bad of late. Just need a bit of Lady Luck or VAR to be on our sides today. Have a good day everyone wherever you are.
Sunday lunchtime so it must be Sunday pint time. While you wait for the drinking companions to arrive a little read for you. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...r?shareToken=59ba627b62ce9a10f9dec2784574254c
Morning all. Grey, damp and not as warm as the past few days. It is supposed to brighten up with some sun later this morning, so I think I will do some barn clearing as it has become a bit of a tipping ground. Large empty containers that held paraffin for the greenhouse heaters, old beyond repair wheelbarrow tyres and tubes, cardboard boxes, and a half used bag of cement that has gone solid. We are lucky to be well served by recycling centres never that far away, but I tend to save my rubbish up until there is enough for a worthwhile journey. Putting cardboard in the bottom of a trench where you have runner beans is quite a good way of preserving some moisture, and it will rot down over a year. Have a good day whatever you are doing.
As forecast the sun has come out and it feels a lot warmer now. That picture makes me feel cold. Just looked to see what time the recycling centre opens, only to find that they have switched things around on a Monday and were open this morning only. Will have to go to the next one that used to be closed Monday morning, but now open in the afternoon. They did have a notice on their website to say that my local one had been closed for several days due to the discovery of ammunition. Probably the local military camp clearing out old tank shells.
Not sure, but didn't know until someone started to talk about another one of his bridge projects that the Irish Sea has been used as a dumping ground for unexploded munitions from WWI and II.
Wow. I would think transportation is interesting if they are so unstable they have to be dumped at sea.
