The RFU has, in its wisdom, decided to cut funding to its second tier competition, the Championship, by 50%, making it very likely that the premiership will become a closed shop, or operate a franchise system like American sports. Turns out that union isn’t popular enough to support a full professional set up. Shame for all those 15 year olds pumping themselves up on the advice of coaches and scouts........

It's been heading this way for years, likely Sarrie's relegation will be the catalyst to bring in a 13 team Premiership and close the shop at that point. As for the 15 year olds, carry on pumping, there'll still be plenty of dosh at the top, just f*ck all below it...

    3 big games this weekend.

    Italy v Scotland
    Wales v France
    England v Ireland

Think the Scots will be too strong for the Italians in Rome. Wales v France is a really interesting game that could go either way. I think Wales will just pip them. Finally, England must be favourites to beat Ireland. An England win will open up the Championship

    Thoughts?

I see that you are taking the Nuts line of talking down Ireland.

Before the tournament started England were clear favourites after the World Cup showing, but they appear to have taken several steps backward, with Jones’ behaviour rather erratic and broader fundamental issues in the English game, which seems on the edge of collapse, also on players’ minds. We are looking a bit of a mess, epitomised by playing Curry out of position.

However, we should win at home, just. I don’t think it will be pretty, especially if it’s as windy down there as it is 100 miles north west.

George North knocked out yet again on a rugby pitch. This bloke should have been forcibly retired years ago, the number of concussions he’s had.

    France blitzing well.

French look up for this one, a win here will put them firmly in the box-seat for the title...

Penalty for Wales but you can see the difference Shaun Edwards has made to the French defence in a very short time.

No scrums yet, shame given the trash talking in the week.

****ing epic French defence with a man off on a yellow.

Why the **** doesn’t Edwards work for England? Oh, it’s because the RFU is a disaster zone.....
