Good Morning. Its Friday 21st February, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Casilla ban could lead to 5m fee activation for Meslier's services With a hefty ban period period looking over Italian keeper Kiko Casilla, Marcelo Bielsa has come out and said that should the inevitable happen, Meslier has shown the required level if required to play (not exactly a glowing report). Casilla is still waiting for the official word from the FA regarding his racism charge, but knowing that the governing body can convict the former Real Madrid shot stopper on probability, not fact, things don't look good for the 33yo. Casilla will face between 6 and 12 games on the sidelines if found guilty. With such a long ban looming, why hasn't Bielsa given promising young keeper Illan Meslier a chance between the sticks? The reason was divulged yesterday! Should Meslier play 10 first team games for Leeds, there is a clause in his contract that the deal will have to be made permanent, with a fee of just over 5m agreed. Former secretary-general of FIFA, world football's governing body, Jerome Valcke and a third unnamed businessman were also indicted by the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG). “The OAG has charged Valcke with accepting bribes, several counts of aggravated criminal mismanagement, and falsification of documents,” a statement read on Thursday. “Al-Khelaifi and the third accused are charged with inciting Valcke to commit aggravated criminal mismanagement. The third accused is also charged with bribery.” Last month Fifa reached an amicable agreement with Khelaifi, to drop its criminal complaint relating to the awarding of 2026 and 2030 World Cup rights to Qatari broadcaster BeIN Sports. “I have been cleared of all suspicions of bribery and the case has been dismissed definitively and conclusively,” said Khelaifi in a statement. “While a secondary technical charge remains outstanding, I have every expectation that this will be proven completely groundless. “While I have cooperated with all authorities during the legal process, the three year investigation has been characterised by constant leaks, misinformation and a seemingly relentless agenda to smear my reputation in the media – completely irrespective of the facts and the notion of due process. For that reason, I have requested the relevant Swiss authorities to open a criminal enquiry into the conduct of the investigation.” please log in to view this image Bielsa's pre match press conference
Morning all... I was just reading about the £5m fee if Messlier plays 10 games, they’re saying the rumour started on twitter so I wonder if it is true? After Saturday we’ll have 12 games left, Messlier played a cup game so with 10 being the magic number we play him up to game 42 and see where we are at with 4 remaining. With so much doubt over Casilla they can’t give him the maximum 12 weeks, they’ll probably give the minimum so that we don’t appeal. If the QSI man is found guilty he’ll be removed from the board and a “suitable” replacement put in place so IF they want to buy or invest in us it would still happen.
Morning all. I expect Meslier to mysteriously pull a groin muscle after 9 matches so. That rumour circulated yesterday and appeared to start with some French publication. Who knows the truth of anything anymore though. Anyone can set up a sports publication on line, get a few thousand followers, include the @Lufc and you're guaranteed tens of thousands of followers. Even Elland has nearly more twitter followers now than Nial Horan, its in the tens of millions
Morning all, So we end up triggering a £5m activation fee for Meslier? I can't see the problem It would be paid in instalments, and getting rid of Casilla would save £2m a year in wages. I'd assumed we'd be buying Meslier anyway.
Why wouldn't we want to sign Meslier? His one appearance this season was one of the best performances of a Leeds keeper this season. Looks a steal at 5m
He mightn't be as good as Kiko or surely Bielsa would be picking him. I thought he always selected his best eleven
From what I have seen in the U23s and more importantly the Arsenal game he looks extremely capable. I don't think his quality is in doubt. Wether he can handle the pressure week in week out is another question. There's only one way to find out. The only reason we wouldn't want to sign him is financial! If that's the case we could be in trouble next season if we dont go up!
How the **** can you charge someone on probability. FFS I'm sending you to prison for 15 years because you probably murdered someone. If Kiko gets done it's just more proof that the governing body are just a bunch of vindictive, bent bastards. How they haven't been investigated is beyond me.
This will continue until someone challenges them in court, also encourages black people etc to make these kind of charges. Probability is balmy it could also be said which ever judgement the bent fa come to is probably wrong
One of Millwall’s under 23’s Harry Ramson(not the fish and chip shop) was recently cleared of racism during a game in October, there were no witnesses (players, officials or spectators) yet the young kid had this claim that could had destroyed his career hanging over him until the end of January when due to lack of evidence he was cleared. I’m not throwing any accusations here but the player that accused him of racism was a QPR player the same team that the player who has accused Kiko originates from , are QPR looking to rock the boat?, in all probability they are.
The thing that puzzles me about players supposedly making racist jibes is that all teams have four five or six team mates from various ethnic backgrounds. Hard to believe a player would call another a negro or whatever when several of his team mates are likely of same colour
What some fans are saying about Kiko's case. https://www.footballtransfertavern....-fas-hearing-for-kiko-casillas-racism-charge/ https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co...earing-wont-remove-doubt-graham-smyth-1884402
Will they let us know about Casilla today? Tomorrow dinner time? Kinda ****ing with matchday preparations here!
'Beyond reasonable doubt' is only used in criminal trials, everything else, civil claims between individuals, employment tribunals etc. is always based on the balance of probability. Most famously used in the OJ Simpson case. Found not guilty at trial but in the civil case brought by the families he was forced to pay them millions.
I don’t like probability prefer things in black or white not 59 shades of grey Or could this be interpreted as racist, probably
