Hi. Lurker here. I was watching the Spurs - Leipzig game tonight and in goal was someone called Gulacsi. I thought the name rang a bell and yes this Champions League player is the goalie who once played on loan from Liverpool for City. Who was ****. Apologies if you're talking about this on a thread somewhere. I did a search but couldn't find anything.
It’s amazing how many players we have go on to bigger and better things. He was still a kid when he was with us, young goalkeepers tend to be more wobbly.
He was so poor when he was here, I'm amazed just how good a keeper he has become since he joined Leipzig. Mad turnaround.
Would have never thought in a million years he would be playing in the champs league and challenging for titles in one of Europe’s top leagues. I know he was young but I thought he was destined for lower league football or play back in his native.... erm erm Hungary???? All credit for the bloke. His improvement must have been immense to be at this level now!
Really is a turnaround. he was poor when he was with us, though youngish at the time as far goalkeepers go. As a matter of interest, David Stockdale seems to have gone the other way, playing for Wycombe in league one now.
I was a bit shocked when I watched his performance last night, thought it must be another Hungarian keeper with the same surname.
Think we had a Portuguese lad a while ago who turned out once I think, can't remember his name though.
He was. He was a decent enough shot stopper, but he averaged a clanger a game. Stockdale, who has always looked 21, is now approaching retirement age. Mental.
Did we also have a very tall goalie who was probably Eastern European who we never / hardly ever use?
