I can tell you that if you reverse their slogan, “Lidl in price, big in quality” and make it “Big in price, little in quality”, you have a perfect description of their management.

May yet be a terrorist attack, but police don't think it is one at the moment as the attacker was a regular at the mosque for a few months.

As someone who used to work for a training agency, overseeing apprentices, I applaud your apprentice for his ingenuity.
Not only has he followed your instructions, he has made it quite clear that you need to give him more explicit instructions if you want him to perform to the highest standards.
A learning curve for both of you.
