I came back from Thailand mate, 3 years ago to this week...Not a pot to piss in..Nothing...Not even a tenner. I've built it all back up, and found many things difficult and strange since i went away. Now my little pad is mine, it's starting to feel like me...Got a bit to go, but nearly there. It's all through hard work, yes i enjoy a beer, but never let that you think it stops my goals.
Well done mate, taken some grafting and some doing...the years are clocking up on us now...but you got there.
I'm fit as **** externally, but it takes its toll. Maybe not so much internally. Just makes me laugh that folks think i do nothing but get pissed like a skiprat on benefits.
I actually don't drink as much as people think. Yes i can get through 14 cans a night, but on work nights i only maybe 4 to wind down....And that ain't everyday...Sometimes like yesterday i have none... I just drank juice and ate...
Recreating from scratch, or restoring? I had a 1983 model XJ6 once (it was 18 years old when I had it). 4.2 litre engine, two 16 gallon tanks. ****ing thing drank more than I did, but oh, what a beauty.
The Le Man car, the SS120, 9 were destroyed in a fire and they rebuilt 9 from scratch using the 1950's drawings to sell to the mega rich My upgrade was from a 16 year old XK8 convertible to a 7 year old XK4.2 convertible
I’ve on several occasions gone to book an extra night, been told a price at the front desk, only to use the hotel WiFi to use booking.com to get a cheaper price. Generally I find booking.com to be good for prices. Depending what you’re booking it can work both ways in terms of price when using sites and booking direct. That said I always book flights direct with the airline not through comparison sites.
We got caught up in that Icelandic ash cloud thing in 2010. We were in Portugal and couldn’t get our plane home so I went to the hotel reception to indefinitely extend our stay. We’d paid a grand for the week we’d been there. They quoted me over 400 euros a night. When I said that was exploitation they said they were losing money as all incoming guests had cancelled so it was pay up or **** off. It turned out alright in the end but they were definitely taking the piss.
Insurance, when they have you will have your triusers down, change every year. Special rates for new customers.
I can’t comment on the testing methods you use, but I have experienced it with a well known holiday provider. I was looking on my iPad and my wife was looking on hers and the price being shown on mine was cheaper by around £50 per person. The only difference, as far as I could see, is that I regularly clear my browsing history due to the same beliefs as @Tobes.
My old man was a nightmare for not shopping around and probably paid over the odds for all of his insurance needs. He mistakenly believed his loyalty to a provider would get him a better service.
