So then, team, at this precise moment in time who are we confident about winning at next month’s Cheltenham Festival??? Which horses after saying their names are we adding with a fair degree of swagger – THESE. WILL. WIN.

For whatever reason who are your 5 star recommendations, your Gold medal picks, you’re A-list stars, call them what you like, but ultimately who are you reasonably sure, if kept A-OK, will win at the meet???

Please note this isn’t a thread for value picks, horses that you think could sneak a place at huge odds or beasts that you think could possibly win. It’s for horse(s) who you believe, for whatever reason, WILL win.

    I’ll nominate –
    Chancun Pour Soi (Champion Chase)
    Tiger Roll (X-Country)
    Allmankind (Triumph)
    And, of course, Santini (CGC)

I would also add Benie Des Dieux as I think she will win at the meet wherever, and I do mean wherever, she goes. But that could be anything from the Champion Hurdle to the Stayers to ‘The Tony Blair’s’.

That's my list then. What's yours???

One for me Barney, Paisley Park...

Made a nice packet off his win last year, but then again no one really knew what would happen as the season went towards last years run. But the cat is out the bag in terms of price, 3/1 generally available around September, to where he is currently as short as 4/6 in places.

Regardless of the price, Paisley Park will win...<cheers> <ok>

Tiger Roll (XC) and Paisley Park (Stayers) will win. Everything else is up for grabs IMO which makes it much more interesting and exciting.

Ah the old banker thread. Very good. The obvious ones I guess have already been mentioned (Paisley Park would be the only one I would call banker material at this stage) but I am very strong on Gigginstown winning the first 2 heats of the festival with Abacadabras and Notebook. Both beasts have looked exemplary to date on the Emerald Isle and I think the British challenge in each heat is below standard. So there you go - a "Barney Rubble Banker" from me. Oh yeah, and Willie's in the Bumper (Appreciate It). I did like the filly for that race but sending a horse from Closutton to Pond House is a sure-fire way to the poor house <ok>

Paisley Park is the only one that I’d say is a banker, and even then it’s got a shadow of Benie hanging over it.

that is why the festival is so good, so competitive.

    2 bankers for me:

    Paisley Park
    Envoi Allen.

The latter I assume won't be champion hurdle bound and will rout his rivals in the Ballymore..

Have you noticed that so many of these talking horses tend to be Irish ones..Samcro where is he going? BDD where is she going? Envoy Allen is he ballymore/champion or supreme?

That's because folks they are a dishonest lot over there.. owners as well as trainers! :emoticon-0100-smile

I m surprised we aren't playing the Douvan guessing game this year!

...and you'd call me mad, but I'd lay Tiger Roll in the X-country..,.
p.s. I haven't 'had a word' & 'nobody told me' - just my opinion, so Barney "wind your neck in, son"!
