It wasn't intended to be patronising. Apologies if it came out that way but I can assure you it wasn't intended.
Have you seen the story about Somerset sending a shirt to a fan, who posted something they liked on Facebook? They didn’t expect it to arrive as the guy lives in a remote part of Pakistan, bordering Afghanistan. They attached a picture of the guy to the package as an aid, and sent it recorded. The guy has since posted a photo of himself wearing it, and Somerset have a new fan.
I have watched Baseball quite a lot and understand the basics and enjoy the atmosphere created, but I don't have a favourite team, in my experience there is more expectoration than expectation! Each to their own.
I just don't get it . Each to their own . Cousins treated me to a game at Wrigley field quite a few years ago . Lovely ground and great shop , but the game itself ?
You're being too polite Jasper, the words you are looking for are ****ing ****e. I've said this before but it won't hurt to repeat it, American Football....****e. Basketball....****e. Baseball...****e. Ice Hockey...****e.
The Americans I've met, mostly in America, have been sociable and welcoming. It's their sports that's the problem.
I follow Boston Bruins in the NHL and it might not have the finesse and beauty of Footy but it certainly does have excitement and is 100 miles an hour for the whole duration of the game. You have to admire some of the skating skill at breakneck speed of the players as well which at times is mind-boggling. You do need a HD stream to follow the puck though and I used to strain my eyes watching it in lower definition.
Funny you should say that. We went to Cuba some time ago and the hotel was full of French Canadians. It may well have been bad luck but our experience was that they were a bunch of yobs, and that's saying something after witnessing our fellow countrymen and women at play. I know you shouldn't generalise but you do get a bad impression of places from just a few unfortunately. I know this chat is nothing to do with cricket but to hell with it.
Was at the Canadian F1 gp back in the 90's . . It's as is they have a double chip on their shoulder . A - You speak English , B _ You are English . Horrible people , simply horrible .
