    Anyone know any?

it’s always puzzled me what they get out of standing at the end of platforms with their notebooks in the rain.

    Anyone know what they do?

    What a random thread.

Ummm no I don't, I assumed it died out in 70s or something. Presumably its the same edge of the seat thrill that plane spotters and bird spotters get, just with ummmm.. . trains.

The office where I work is situated next to a bus station.

We regularly see bus spotters. BUS spotters ffs.

I dunno, I I thought it was some really old trains are on tracks still and people are interested in steam engines. I can't imagine spotting a grubby, stinky modern day train that is on the track daily.

My dad is a bird spotter, he was intensely interested in me (his only son,) learning it. So when I was a kid i could hear a bird and instantly know exactly what it was.
I got bored of it and have forgotten literally all of it.

I like looking at birds. The long legged double breasted mattress thrasher is a personal favourite of mine!

They are regularly on the platforms at York. It just seems really odd behaviour.
