If it goes ahead I know a man who walks his dog with a man who’s brother is a postman who knows a landlady of a pub near this yard who both share the same milkman who’s told them these horses will run well tomorrow.
First up clondaw Westie ,who has the unenviable task of taking on the forums second favourite trainers troubled soul I’ll be honest I haven’t heard anything about this one but that could change tomorrow. Secondly Kashmir peak who ran beyond his mark last time and was fortunate to finish second to minella Rocco lto who is now fave for the foxhunter should be winning this with one of the Andrews clan up top.
Anyway this info is all a figment of my imagination.
    Cheers.

That milkman is one of my main informers / contacts / moles (delete as appropriate) so I will be on these. Admittedly, not as leading an informer / contact / mole (delete as appropriate) as Henrietta Carrot (my Newmarket mole), Paddy O’Dawes (my Irish contact), Isabel Ringing (my Northern informer), or one of Lieutenant Henderson’s Privates, who I can’t name because of the ‘Official Secrets Act’, (Lambourn correspondent) but still a good egg nevertheless.

A word of warning though, old boy, if you fill this thread up with humorous names for Military types then there will be Complaints with a capital ‘C’ and the dear old mods may have to batten down their inboxes as a result.

I mean if I was to say that Lieutenant Henderson’s cohorts include General Election, Corporal Punishment, Major Disaster, Private Parts, and Rear Admiral Butts then all hell will break lose so I won’t.

I didn’t notice to be honest but thought the hunter chase would be his main entry.

Too many races, too many meetings and not enough sand castle building opportunities at Southwell.

They must’ve tipped them up in the weekender when you were thumbing through it in w h smith at the station.

Cor blimey are you stalking me. That’s a bit of a detailed description (and highly accurate) re my activities. Although just a minor tweak (had it been a Major Tweak I could have added him to my list of humorous Military names) I tend to buy ‘The Weekender’ and thumb through (or ‘sneak a peak’) the trade daily.

Right I'm off to do a write-up re tomorrow's racing. I'll whisper this quietly, in all seriousness there is one that I really like.

I think I've said this before but in my entire life I've only drunk about 5 cups of coffee. Really can't abide the stuff. A cup of tea is a different matter, however, and if you're offering I'll have one of them.

I think the old policy was give them a free cup of coffee and then fleece them out of several hundreds pounds, on a machine, whilst they drunk it!

People, have a look at the first race at Newcastle on Saturday eve (4.55). Mr Kirby seems somewhat keen to win it. Amazing look heat.

At Meydan Magic Lily is a warmish favourite. She was 3rd in the Fillies Mile behind Laurens as a 2YO and was set for a promising 3YO season as a daughter of Derby winner New Approach out of Oaks winner Dancing Rain. Injury got in the way though and she was off for a couple of seasons. Tried in Listed Class last year she was rated 100 at the end of the season. Her last run was a narrow win but she earned a rise to 106, making her narrowly the highest rated in the field. Lightly raced and with the expectation that the extra distance will suit today, it is easy to see the thinking that she is the one to beat today. I am not sure though.

Nisreen was Runner Up to today's favourite last time but she only went down by a short head. 3lbs better off today and rated only 1 lb lower it may not be as straight forward that the Favourite will assert over the longer trip. Nisreen should also be at home over today's distance and I felt the jockey may just have committed early enough last time out and they only just got nailed in the final stride by a whisker.

At the relative odds today I decided to go with Nisreen in a race where some others don't have much to find but also have questions that make them less appealing,

    4.15 Meydan Nisreen 5/2

    Should go very close.
