It was a relief at least to see us so much more solid at the back. I think the mobility of Barbet makes a big difference and with him around you can risk playing the likes of Rangel whose legs have gone but whose tactical nous is second to none. Cameron also looks more assured with a quicker player behind. Hall does what he does whoever is alongside but doesn't always look well positioned at set pieces. Manning did okay going forward but it was easy to see why he has been out of favour for a while as he allows ludicrous amounts of space that invites crosses or runs into the box. Surely a decent coach could fix this? Generally we seem to be much more able to move the ball up the pitch from defence without having to go through the appallingly negative Amos.

But every year we are staying in the same position while spending much less money. That’s entertainment.
It's actually some achievement to do that whilst getting through God knows how many managers, shifting a huge number of players to reduce the wage bill year after year after year and still basically stand still.... Kudos to Les, Lee and the management team especially Warbles for keeping the club above water whilst making us enjoyable on the whole to watch....
Bit late to this but having only seen a couple of live games this year, got to say that Eze looks like he needs a rocket up him. Surprised he hasn't come in for more stick on here after that performance. Undoubtedly he's a talent but he seemed to spend the entire game on his heels and was slow to react whenever the ball came near him. He was driving me and my mates mad. And as for his set pieces - absolutely woeful. Is he like that every game?
Eze is still a young boy learning his trade. Maybe we expect too much from him and he deserves a break but at the moment we need to get 4 to more 5 wins to hopefully secure our championship place. We just need to encourage him. He is probably someone that the opponents single out to kick or try to kick off the park but he is the future.
That's the only entertainment we're going to get anyway, given the financial constraints. It's a risky business, tread watering just above the relegation zone. If it goes wrong...well, look at Portsmouth's struggle to leave the third tier.
Got to say as well though that though Eze played a great 1st half, 2nd half he looked like he needed another dose of the medicine. Hugill has been getting all sort of abuse because among other errors he didn't reach a couple of crosses fhat went right across their box close in, but watch Eze in replay of them, Hugill did try to get there, Eze just stood and watched. He does need a few kicks up the jaksee in their box.
