Virgil van Dijk contract Liverpool are set to reward Virgil van Dijk with a bumper new deal which would be worth in excess of £50million based on add-ons. Van Dijk became Liverpool’s record signing back in January 2018 when he joined from Southampton for £75million. He also became one of the club’s highest earners after signing a five-and-a-half year contract with wages worth a reported £125,000-a-week. AndFootball Insiderclaims the Reds are ready to offer the Holland international a new five-year contract worth £150,000-a-week after their Fenway Sports Group (FSG) owners prioritising sorting out his future.
SportBild have said our interest in Werner is real. He has a €60m release clause. The price makes it more attractive than Sancho / Havertz.
Kinda used to how we do things now. On the downlow. So when i see rumours these days i largely ignore them.
Discussions between Klopp and Michael Edwards regarding Coutinho’s return took place last summer, although talks were only brief due to Barcelona’s demands over wages and a loan fee. [The Athletic]
Coutinho back wouldnt be the worst thing in the world if he accepted a reasonable wage and understood he had no 1st team guarantees (he would boost the 1st team and in turn strengthen squad) . He has had a while to get over that back injury after all.
The story I quoted before was that he'd come back on his pre 2017 contract (that he reneged on within three months of signing it). IF he came back for @ £50k a week and we could get him for under £50m, then maybe. Otherwise no. We'd only be buying him to stop another Prem rival getting him, tbh. We just have to bit the bullet on that one, as we did with Owen when he wanted to come 'home' all those years ago. Only Rushie was welcomed back unconditionally, but we'll see what Klopp wants, I suppose.
Hopefully he does well. Technical ability and work rate are must haves, he looks to have both. Big step up to play in the prem though.
I just can't see the coutinho thing happening, I just can't see klopp going for it. Looking dispassionately, I'd have him in a heart beat, in reality, I'm not sure.
No ****ing way, he put in minimum effort and then had a back "injury" to force his dream move. No way he could be trusted to behave with no guarantee of starting. Absolutely and utterly **** him the ****. So glad this is all bollocks anyway, hes burnt his bridges with klopp. He should be used as a shining example of a player who left for bigger things and failed miserably. Not welcomed back like we need him desperately. Its embarrassing reading our fans beg for him back tbh.
I wouldn't want him. We'd have to change the team dynamics to accommodate him. Or is he supposed to be cover for Mane? If so, I don't want him because he's **** on the left.
RB Leipzig have played down claims Timo Werner is heading to Liverpool- saying he's heading to Tottenham for the Champions League instead. Reports in Germany have this Wednesday claimed the Reds are 'serious' about signing the forward in this summer's transfer window, amid claims they made contact with Leipzig in January. Liverpool have been linked with a move for Werner for quite some time, amid claims they have considered triggering his £50million release clause. Bild, via Sport Witness, claimed Liverpool's plan in January was to sign him and then loan him back to Leipzig for the remainder of the season. It added that Liverpool are in pole position to land the forward, suggesting the deal will eventually materialise at some point or another in the next few years. But RB Leipzig have made it clear that they're not on board, with the club's official Twitter account tweeting in response to the speculation: "We heard. He is headed towards Tottenham though." NOTE: No smoke without fire...Hahaha,
