Sorry but Maguires injury looked like an impact thing when he landed to me. Not a muscle strain. I don’t think he was over exerted at any point today. He hardly had to break sweat. If you say “if he’d taken him off 5 minutes sooner...” then that’s all pie in the sky. Can’t blame Parkinson for an awkward fall

There was no need for half of that team to be on the pitch tbh ....

... we could've played with half the team and still won tbh.

They gave up and we could've played the ball boys.

Yes but hes pushing his luck if hes just going to keep players on the pitch for needless lenghs of time when we are coasting, especially in conditions like tonight..
All it takes is an awkward turn or twist and that could be a Knee or ankle ligaments done and then thats bye bye for the season for someone.
If it happens in training or during a close game then thats just bad luck. Theres no need to take needless risks, he has to do himself a favour aswell. We recruited well in Jan, itd nice to start using and utilizing the new lads abit better.

How much did we miss Gooch when he was injured, and how much has our form changed since he came back?
Imagine if he was to get crocked and be out again long term? It could pretty much feck the whole of our season up!

I’m hoping players Like Semenyo and Scowen can pick up for him if needed. Semenyo looked good in his cameo tonight.
Agree totally mind. Gooch is a very important player for us!

another great first half but should have changed things in the 2nd earlier could have been 6-0 why do they stop playing, we need to see Lafferty and Scowen more, 5th though and who knows can we make the top 2.

I’m buzzing with that. Another 3pts and we are right in there. Coventry have only lost 3 games all season, I suspect we’ll need to finish above them or Rotherham to go up automatically.

Various teams have been 'flying' like Wycombe who'll finish mid-table ...

... now is the time for us all to pull together and make sure we don't falter.

    Haway the Lads!!!

I said after the Ipswich game it's a case of who blinks first, well looks like Wycombe and Ipswich have both shut their eyes.
We'll know by the end of this month whose got the gonads to see this season through.

Forecast for Oxford on Saturday is wind and heavy rain...

Dare we hope for a win? Dropping points with so many teams on similar points risks falling put of contention even for a play-off spot.

God I hate the turd division.

Genuinely wish I could see into an alternative dimension where pp rang the changes at ht to rest key players but we ended up losing the clean sheet or finished with a nervy 3-2. I wonder if it would be the same people complaining about that (as they are complaining about him not resting players).

We're playing a consistent 11 for the first time in God knows how many seasons, we're getting results (Portsmouth aside), keeping clean sheets and heading up the table.

    Bloody enjoy it people.

2 teams out of 5 for me.... Peterborough will go through a bad patch (well I hope they do), Not convinced too much by Rotherham..not sure what I base that on, But Coventry I think will go up. So for me, I think either Sunderland or Portsmouth will fill the other spot.

Yep, those two looking very good for the top two spots on current form. We just gave to keep winning, and beat them both when we play them to give ourselves a chance of automatic promo, or at least consolidate a play-off place.

I can see Wycombe sliding out of the top 6.

I'd like to see an alternate reality where we're 3-0 up at home but struggling for the same intensity in the second half, changes are made and we score another couple of goals. Funny seems to work both ways.

It's a long season and fatigue is cumulative. They're ok now but what if they're tiring/picking up fatigue related niggles as we get into the playoffs?

The subs could have been made slightly earlier than they were but changing things at half time isn't the way to go about it. Around the 60 minute mark is acceptable.

Was surprised not to see Scowen introduced to add a little zip to the midfield as the game began to open up a bit in the second half. Replacing the front three didn't really give us back control of the game. While Semenyo looked like he could be dangerous, Lafferty and Watmore didn't really make much of a contribution.

    Has Maguire got an injury?

Parky seems to put subs on at 80 mins, (not enough time for a player to get into the game and have an effect imho) but Maguire went off earlier holding his left thigh?

My guess would be, same starting 11 Saturday?

Has Gooch fould his best playing position just off Wyke? I reckon he does not have the speed or dribbling ability to be a winger, but he does seem to have found a scoring touch... long may it continue...
