Don't have to worry about Roberts as Bielsa has just confirmed he's injured again and not in tomorrow bights squad. Something wrong with his calf

roberts is a talented lad who's body is falling apart and sadly can't be relied on.

    what about Forshaw then?

I don't know who is the biggest sicknote, Roberts or Douglas, what are these two made off?

its patently obvious that bielsa wants fullbacks who are an attacking threat. Berardi gets a nosebleed past the halfway line. He also gets done for pace too easily at full back... though the same can be said of all of our left backs. He's a better fit at centre half in a bielsa team where neither of those two issues are as easily exploited, but makes us even more pint-sized at set pieces - whichever, he's had some decent games at centre half for us. Decent bench option as cover across the back 4.

Berardi isn't a fullback / winger, what he is, is an experienced player who chooses not to go too far forward cos he knows the implications. That's experience.

You're right, Bielsa does want full backs who can play down wing, but it ain't been working for last 10 games or so, and Bielsa obviously doesn't recognise the implications and how it is costing us.

and bielsa knows the implications of not doing it, for the kind of football that did get us top of the league. He's a my way or highway coach and berardi isn;t his type of fullback. Ayling would be more defensive if Bielsa wanted him to be. He goes forward and others are meant to cover. Whether you agree with the bielsa style or not is up to you, but the fullbacks are acting on orders when they bomb forward - it's not berardi's experience that stops him... it's just not his natural game. Nothing wrong in that but just not a good fit for bielsa football as a full back.

I've already said Bielsa doesn't fit into his type of fullback / winger position........<doh>

And experience is everything, Berardi has years of experience at high and competitive level, probably none higher than the Championship other than internationals.

Berardi has also played U20, U21 and senior international level for Switzerland

and where did i question berardi's experience?<confused><confused> The other's are playing to orders and it's not berardi's game. I'm not even blaming berardi. <confused><confused>. His experience is irrelevant if he can't play the wingback role that is demanded by his coach. But thanks for keeping us up to date with his junior international experience regardless:emoticon-0100-smile

Beradi was his go to centre back the beginning of last season before his injury. In front of Pontus on merit if I recall correctly. What's changed?
