Absolutely preposterous plot, terribly acted, but fabulous photography and brilliant action scenes! Love that film!
BH12 is getting windy. I've put away all plants/chairs that can blow and put heavy bricks on the lid of my garden storage.
By the way, saw The Personal History of David Copperfield this afternoon. First class writing and direction from Armando Ianucci and a fabulous cast including Dev Patel as David, Paul Whitehouse as Mr Peggotty, Peter Capaldi as Mr Micawber, Tilda Swinton as Betsy Trotwood, and Ben Wishaw as Uriah Heep. Absolutely hilarious from start to finish. A must-see.
Interesting fact: The whole film was shot in England, because Kubrick was scared of flying. Even the scenes set in Vietnam. The battle scene in Hue was shot at an old abandoned gasworks along the Thames River, and two hundred palm trees were imported from Spain for the set.

Unpleasant on the Island....windy with horizontal rain earlier. Not as bad as some previous storms. My fences are usually the best indicators....bit already broken is wobbling, but no new casualties.
The coast will get a battering because these winds are occuring at the same time as Spring tides. Going to cause a lot of damage I reckon. The seawall at Milford on Sea has already been badly damaged. Wouldnt be surprised to see it completely fail during this storm.
Lost a tree in my back garden. Came down and thumped the conservatory, breaking the guttering. Guess I’ll be one of the many calling their insurance tomorrow
Lost a fence panel . Can't get the panel replaced until WEDS . Going to be fun with the three you cats using the litter tray and not being allowed out until it is all fixed again …..
I already had two broken fence panels which can wait until spring because of shrubs behind them....another one was broken the other side, but my neighbour did it for free (even though it's mine) because he has a dog….so I won there. Unusually I am responsible for the fence on three sides, so it is rare that I have a year where I'm not replacing panels. I hate the wind for obvious reasons.
