As I explained, I genuinely don't understand how it really works but was under the impression that the prospective presidents were elected following their promises of how much cash they were prepared to 'pump in', if they were to be elected, and which players they intended to spend it on.
Like I said, if you want to believe in the 4d chess explanation, that's ok with me. I hope they are, but as I've said before, their plan to watch us slide further into the ****, and potentially have to dig us out of league one with 6 players who are not out of contract in the summer, is not ideal. In my experience, the most likely explanation is often the one that is staring you in the face, and while the Ltd can be reopened, it is a sign that things are on a knife edge with FPP if they're that happy to walk away from the table and hope SD comes crawling back. I hope they don't build antipathy, or make selling to them a source of hurt pride...
Because as you said, the loan is more complicated than your average loan. Often the interest for these kinds of deals is only to cover inflation (about 2.5% or 250k) and the idea of an early repayment fee is laughable as it complicates everything needlessly. The deal is there to offer FPP a chance to convert their loan to equity if they believe that is the right path. That's why it keeps them at the table in a way that they would not be without it. Right now, they can walk away from negotiations or bluff as much as they want, they can't avoid knowledge of our situation or not keep abreast of Donald's plans. If, as you say, they weren't happy with Donald's price (and it's worth noting that he got the Sun to take down pretty much this exact headline, so he must be able to prove it in some basic capacity as they didn't even bother fighting it), him doing this loan has kept them inextricably linked to what happens next.
No, and that's a but disingenuous as I said as much 2 posts later when I realised they'd wound up the Ltd not the LLC in america. Why are you bringing it up? Thought it wasn't aimed at me?
I was just asking a question, I'm not involved in finance and just trying to understand how it works. 'Bringing things up', that people have posted, is generally how chat forums work.
Yeah but if you read literally a few posts down you'll see what I meant. That's why I'm saying I don't understand why you've posted it without that context.
Assuming that it was a genuine question... The loan keeps them at the table as long as it's in the club and not paid back. They can't avoid being inextricably linked to our future and any potential takeover which would directly impact their loan and future options. So it serves that purpose while it is in the club, whether Donald spends it or not. Even if they had told him in December that they don't plan on making a bid for the majority of shares, they'll be keeping an eye on things to see if their existing plans are still viable.
I suppose m8, using this logic we’ve no tangible proof that it isn’t either. That’s the point of a message board, opinions mainly opposing otherwise you wouldn’t have any discussions, just nods of agreement. And thanks to ur lass for providing an opinion, nice that it’s coming from a professional, adds weight.
Haway man, this is just a football forum not a report to the City. I was looking for something @Guinness Guzzler had said and came across your post. Would you really expect anyone to go through dozens more posts just in case you'd changed your mind further on? There is no context with what any of us say and it doesn't really matter anyway ... ... it's just people's opinions and guesswork.
I get it, said at the time I'm happy for it to be questioned, I just wasn't sure why that particular post, because it doesn't represent the conversation I was having at the time. Smug explained, it's all good.
The Trolls have gone very quiet since they realised they may been totally wrong ... ... always very vocal when they think they're 'winning' but scurry off when they've humiliated themselves.
