And another possibility is that they were encouraged by the fact we all went absolutely potty when we heard they were taking over.
I didn't say bribe, but it did make sense at the time that they were going to remain connected to the club even if they weren't buying us outright. That was a good thing I thought. They were happy to do this, so they clearly did see it as a potential pathway to more if it went well. I've said this before, but Donald wasn't in a position to force them to do anything they didn't want to do. It does work both ways here, Donald can't be a cretin if he's managed to convince them to lend him £10m against their inclinations, but a more realistic explanation than him being a master negotiator is that they always wanted to do it this way.
From what I heard from a decent source, the £10m was a sign of good faith, a holding position really, with a design to stop any chancer from mortgaging the future or exposing the asset base to the risk of a chancer trying to make a quick buck, nothing more. I personally don’t think anything’s changed, the dissolution of the company means nowt, if they want to buy us they will, if they don’t they won’t, one things for certain in my mind, Donald needs to **** off, he’s absolutely terrible for our club, completely out of his depth, I agree with smug on this, he’s a liability and every week he causes us more embarrassment, he needs to be gone, whoever the new owner is s/he’s not going to be as bad as this clown.
Donald is floundering and I doubt anyone would put money on him pulling off a masterstroke and making a big profit. He'll be like Christopher Biggins in the jungle in a loin cloth .... ... eating shyte, grinning through the tears and desperately trying to cover his arse.
True, I can see them appointing a Levy type CEO to deal with the day to day but they would still bask in the reflected glow of greatness
I was thinking of whatshisface from Chelsea and man u. Might be a bit optimistic with that admittedly. Kenyon?
had my new one for a few months now.. every time the FPP deal is announced as dead I look at it and feel like it's done the dirty on me
I have a Dell laptop and, whenever I try to do a search .... ... it comes up with a website called 'don't give up you bellend'. No idea what it means tbh
Know exactly how you feel, mate. My work laptop is dell. For the last few months my willingness to work weekends has been directly correlational with the public status of the takeover. I might do a few hours tomorrow morning!
Whatever is going on in the back ground. It's clear from the news that Donald is still not getting what he wants. But at least the news of altering the 40 million deal he's after, shows signs that he may be willing to negotiate. I'm not sure that's a big enough change myself. I'm pretty sure I'd read the club is worth half of what he's currently asking. If that's the case no one is going to buy it at his 40 million valuation.
It seems to me that as supporters we are just waiting to see who blinks first, whoever it is I hope we end up in a much healthier place
Let's say Donald wants £40 million. Take away the £10 million loan from FPP and future parachute payments which leaves £25 million. The squad is easily worth £15 million leaving £10 million. The land, on which the AOL stands, is worth £5 million ... ... and the scrap value of Kevin Ball's solid steel knackers is another £4.95 million. That means Donald is virtually giving the club away to anyone who can handle the endless tirade of abuse for failing to sign N'Zogbia and Kholer ... ... so we only need a crowd funding effort of around £7.50 each and we can take back the club. Let's do it .... ... SKP will manage for nowt but the love of the club, Quinny will do the paperwork and Alex Rae will advise the players on anger management. Haway lads, what could possibly go wrong.
