As I'm told they've never been away.

They've put in a lot of time, effort and money on a club that could easily be ten times what it is now.

They're both at virtually the same point as they were in September ...

... except Donald is desperate to find a way out.

Yeah, but he only needs to pay it off and they could be gone if they so wished. On last podcast he said they had hardly touched it.

I think they are not only at the table but hold the best hand in this poker game with Stewart Donald. Donald's poker face is beginning to develop a twitch :emoticon-0102-bigsm

If he didn't need it, why did he borrow it and cop the charges.

Well if that's the case I'm not sure they will be interested in taking over. They will have witnessed the fanzines creating a **** storm and turning the fans against SD. Now whether you agree with the fanzines donaldout campaign or not, it won't have looked pretty to FFP .

Because at that point he was probably planning for the championship and longer term.

Then it all changed and the fans told him to leave. So he's very likely not interested in spending anymore of the 10m on the club when he has to pay it back.

So you believe a handful of lads at fanzines have dictated the actions of internationally respected billionaires ...

... absolute shyte from someone who seems desperate to find the negatives.

Sorry to be blunt but you're coming across as a tit.

I have read this thread and the one over the road with interest and I have come to the same conclusion I did months ago.

Our new owners will be the Americans, SD is way way out of his depth trying his "tactics" with them to get a price he wants and they are happy to sit back watching him squirm till they pay the price they want to.

Let's be honest, is safc worth 40 million? Yes we have a premiership ground and a premiership academy but that doesn't get you the players needed to get to the Premier league.

Cold hard cash does and that will reflect in the purchase price.

I've said it since this started, if these fellas want our club, they'll get it and now I'm sure it'll be on their terms.

Donald playing hardball is like a duck squaring up to a lion.

Hmm, if nothing has changed since September, that's fairly ambiguous so I'll respectfully say it'd be nice if they are serious. It would be better if the language was more definitive or there was some indication that they were progressing. Technically they're still involved and never haven't been since the loan went in, that's not even a debate because they are 'around' until Donald pays them off. That doesn't quite mean they're actively pursuing a deal for us.

I hope they are, I just think the fact that none of these sources are able to give a single detail about what they want (what is their private valuation?) then it's hard to say who is being reasonable or not. I don't want to sit and castigate Donald without knowing both sides of the story really. This paralysis cost us a good opportunity in January, I feel and that doesn't benefit us, Donald or even FPP if it costs us promotion again.

What language, they're under no obligation to say anything and would be well advised not to.

Do you really believe anyone should reveal the price they're prepared to pay?

Exactly people seem to think he has it put to one side Really. Borrow £10m. And leave it lying Successful businessmen don’t spend their own money. They borrow on the assets of the business and hope to make a profit

I really think there is a limit to this though. We don't know who is being reasonable or how far apart they are. I'm not expecting a blow by blow account, but they haven't even bothered setting the record straight as far as Donald's claims in January that they were never interested in owning us outright, and that they wouldn't be interested without him. Right now, those things still seem like they may be the case and if nothing has changed since September and Donald's account was correct, then maybe they are happy to let him try to sell the club to someone else, fail, and come back to spending that loan as the owner.
