Liverpool U23s might disagree with him.

Let’s use the term physically fit and not carrying excess weight instead of match fit

Berra did his ankle with the u23s down at Taddy. There are other examples too. Jack Clarke took that approach with the u23s this year. Really worked well for him, didn't it? Bielsa will EXPECT 100% application & nothing less. How can you impress if you hide?

Imagine you were a Spanish U23 and Messi was making his first come back against you, first thing you would do is try and kick the fooker isn't it,must be the same with a player supposed to be worth £30 million, so he's bound to hold back a bit.

didn’t he also say he had been watching Edmonton in U23s and he hadn’t showed anything to deserve to be in the senior team?

Surely they've got to catch him first to kick him? If he's as fit as some claim ..................

It's challenges where kids could go in studs showing, your not going to give them a chance are you. Not watched a lot of U23 football, but bits I have watched, always thought it's played a bit like friendlies.

And another thing - how TF am I supposed to imagine being a Spanish u23 player?

I'm old, fat, ugly, freckled & need factor 50 with the livingroom light on. Add to that I have zero footballing skills, which I have consistently lacked all my life. So how can I possibly imagine it. Apart from the kicking. I could always do that. It was just getting close enough to do it that was the problem. Troo dat. Sadly. :(

Wouldn't say friendlies. These lads are hungry. And focussed. Will never forget Edmondson going through his team-mates in the tunnel at half time at Hull.

Me too but I would kick Messi while we are shaking hands before the game starts. Let's see him dribble with one fooking leg.

You were obviously a cleverer 'footballer' than I was.

JKA starting tonight, but Poveda isn't.

Wonder if Poveda is getting some game time tomorrow from the bench, hence he's not starting tonight?

JKA must surely be playing 90 mins, as the only possible strikers we have to come on are midfielders Stevens & McKinstry. Narrowing it down further, McKinstry played Wednesday night. Neither have played striker as far as I know. (Unless someone else as been converted without me noticing :) ).

Leeds United: Caprile, Douglas, Stanley, Struijk, Hosannah, Phillips, Kamwa, Hudson, Huggins, McCarron, Augustin.Subs: Male, Casey, Poveda, Stevens, McKinstry.

Just as well I didn't go down to Tadcaster for the match - they've moved it to bloody York! Getting worse than Sky, this mob! :)

Don’t they have another U23 game on Monday? If so I’d expect another 45 minutes tonight. Poveda being excluded is good news, nice to see Douglas back too. I’m surprised Forshaw is still on the mend

Bucks has posted a link to the U23 game in the stream pm group, currently 10 minutes has been played. I’m watching Augustin and I’m still convinced he is over weight

2-0 to Derby now, Augustin largely anonymous due to lack of good attacking opportunities, but he's just tried to beat their keeper from inside his own half. <cool>

1-2 Augustin fails to connect with a cross but we have someone following up on the back post.
