On current form, there arent 7 better teams than us. Problem is our lack of squad depth. A few injuries and we will struggle. But we have outplayed spurs, arsenal, leicester, liverpool for 45 minutes. Even the wolves game we were very unlucky.

So, I dont think we will get 7th but it's nice to dream, and at least have an outside chance again!

I'm just thankful it doesn't appear to be a long term injury and ligament damage. Those have a habit of reoccurring.

Seems Prowse is still a Machine. Just with a flesh coating.

I keep checking the BBC football website to see when Son is to be charged with simulation. So far the FA haven't made the announcement but I'm confident they will shortly because:
The FA has extended its powers to punish simulation retrospectively.
A new offence of ‘Successful Deception of a Match Official’ will be in force from the start of the 2017-18 season, after the regulation change was approved by The FA Council today [18 May] and following a period of consultation with stakeholders over the past few months. (source; thefa.com)
Despite only two EPL players being retrospectively charged since 2017 (none in the last 3 years), I'm sure they really mean it. Son must be quaking in his wobbly boots.

    For anyone who still thinks it was a penalty because there was contact;

"The first player to be punished under the new regulations was Oumar Niasse just a few months into the 17-18 season. He was deemed to have conned the referee during Everton's 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace in November as he won a penalty following minimal contact with Scott Dann. He received a two game ban."

    ______________

I'd imagine with the implementation of VAR, that has now changed. If it hasn't, then its rather embarrassing.

It is embarrassing (or it should be) for the FA, even more so since VAR but you get the feeling they aren't too bothered.

What keepers need to do, is absolute go for a clatter while roaring with anger, and then pull out last second making sure there's air between the players. Let the guy fake a dive, or be brave & score. But not let then cheaply leg dangle their way to glory. I guess you'd only get away with that a couple times though. <laugh>

    I'm over this now.

It means I can go on my holiday in May now and not have to fake a reason to cancel it to Mrs TIOON7 :)

Having only been able to face watching the highlights after watching the game live I just noticed how poor Vestergaard was for both goals. He dived in for the first and then got nutmegged for the through ball to Son. So frustrating that we had to bring him on due to JWP’s unfortunate injury and change our back four when we had been doing so well up until then.

Its hard to see, but honestly, he did do more than those two things. Its just the highlight reels hate him. Like, real hate.

    **** player, constantly makes mistakes.

Worst of all he never looks like he gives a single **** any time he does something stupid, doesn't ever chase back in an attempt to win back the ball (all be it, he's not catching up with anyone anyways) and doesn't ever look frustrated with himself for letting down his team or the fans.

Ability is poor, mentality is disgraceful.

Trust me, he really wasn’t that bad on Wednesday, and made a number of crucial blocks. PEH was far more guilty of the lackadaisical stroll back stuff (you can even see him doing that with Moura’s goal).

I don’t want to sound down on him, as I’m a big Hojbjerg fan, but this season he’s looked and played like a man wanting to leave. I hope he turns that around.

Yep, totally agree. Haven't been impressed with Hojbjerg at all this season.

Could be he's just not up to the high-tempo passing game that we've been playing recently. Gotta say though, with the distance they have to cover, plus the tackling that's required of them, Defensive Mid has got to be the toughest position to play. It can't be easy keeping up the same level of form over a whole season.

Again, this is why it would make sense to keep someone like Harry Reed in the squad to come in and play every third or fourth game, to give the first choice DMs a lighter schedule.

I noticed that against Villa. He burst forward and missed a sitter from 6 yards and then just strolled back despite Villa taking a quick goal kick. Not good enough.

Take a look at him for the third Wolves goal, that he could have prevented simply by getting back quicker. I pointed it out a couple days after the game having spotted it in the highlights.

If someone offers the reported £35m for PEH in the summer, I would snap their hands off tbh

Oh dear the knives are out.

Poor old Pierre-Emile. If you all stopped watching the ball and instead watched the player for ten minutes you would see the amount of ground he covers, his closing down, his constantly making himself available for a pass, his passing, (yes some passes do go astray but not many) and his encouraging of others.

He is such a **** useless player that Ralph made him captain for a laugh.

For those of you who still think he is useless here is a new set of knives to stick in his back.

So who to cheer on in this season´s FA Cup. It is disappointing that SFC are not involved but lets hope the following happens

Chelsea v Liverpool ...Chelsea, but hopefully they get knocked out in the quarters
Derby v Manchester United …. definitely Derby
Sheffield Wednesday v Manchester City ….. hopefully Wednesday
Reading v Sheffield United …… Sheffield United
Leicester v Birmingham …… Leicester all day long
WBA v Newcastle …… would love to see Newcastle get to the final
    Tottenham v Norwich ….. Tottenham
    Portsmouth v Arsenal ……. Pompey

So a Newcastle v Pompey final??

I feel that our beloved Spurs will reach the final given the luck they had on Wednesday.
